Seeking common ground and taking annihilation all or nothing positions are mutually exclusive, IMHO.
One of those is good. One not so much.

We are oil independent, we are just not cheap oil independent. Its not cost effective to drill in the US until the price of oil goes up. But we have plenty of oil.

I agree for the most part. Biden’s foreign policy has been bad.
But is it any better than exchanging love letters with Kim Jong Un? Or looking like a dog with its tail between its legs with Russia?
I’m not sure I’ve seen good foreign policy from the US in a long time. Which is why this thread is so interesting to me. What can we really do to secure Ukraine while keeping Russia at bay? I

All of the so called d.c., yale, columbia, harvard and company predicted for sure armageddon with the big orange men at the helm. The same so called experts predicted for sure an economical collapse. The exact opposite happened. The big orange men by his policies demonstrated, proved without the shadow of a doubt how disconnected, preposterous those so called experts are.
Being a 50 years senate member does not make you an expert.

The same so called experts that predicted armageddon were silent when the big orange man went after…RUSSIA. His actions against Russia were the strongest ones ever put into action since President Reagan, another “independent” President that all so called experts predicted a humongous failure. Today the same Russia is ready to go to war with Ukraine. You can’t hear a bleep from the same so called experts.

I respectfully disagree.
The orange man did some good things in office and I like that he was an outsider to politics. It’s probably why a lot of my family voted for him.
The truth is that he (the US) didn’t take a strong position on Russia. Quite the opposite actually. And Obama didn’t do anything either. And now Biden is looking like more of the same.
If you think the shear power of some US leader’s personality is all that’s needed to keep Putin in place then you have drank too much of the authoritarian “I alone can fix it” kool-aid, and I can’t help you.
Anyway, trump/biden, it’s all the same and none of them are some American savior like the media would want you to believe.

I’m totally for that.
I think another poster mentioned that earlier. Arming the Ukraine to the teeth would go a long way with deterring Russia. I think NATO would serve as another layer security, but I haven’t seen anything yet that would indicate that they’re mobilizing.
