Yeah, losing is not an option….you can’t wear these unis and lose….unless we are playing the Steelers .

Unless we have some current players who were born before 1996, when the Houston Oilers moved and ceased to exist, I’m not sure why they would “love it”.

However, this is innovative marketing to potential fans, yet at the same time it is stupid. Wearing Oileresque uniforms and announcing it this late date may sell a few extra tickets to a game that is going to be pretty close to a sellout anyway. Perhaps they should have saved this marketing razzle dazzle for Sam Houston State.

They love them because they are banging.

This board definitely doesn’t have the pulse of what people are saying about the unveil . I have even seen SMU fans saying how nice these are. First time I have seen universal praise and attention for the program and of course a good segment of coogfans is down on them.

You are in the generation that should understand marketing more than most. This gets media talking, this gets fans talking, this gets the city talking, yes I love the Cougar red and want to see them wear it every game, but this is marketing genius.

Also, it was technically already their color scheme, but Iowa’s uniforms are an explicit copy of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and have been for almost 50 years.
