It got better as the posts came in. Initially it was a lot of negativity. I know my group chat of non UH fans exploded when these dropped. Marketing hit this one of out of the park for sure

I remember watching Billy Cannon (LSU All-American RB) play for the Oilers in Robertson/Jeppsen in early '60ās. Survived some awful but also some great Oiler games. Hereās a taste of 'dem days:

Iām just saying that Oilers nostalgia has a certain age limit. Younger folks, including the current members of our football team, likely lack any actual memory of Love Ya Blue or the Oilers. So, these uniforms will probably not inspire them.
I will say that using what are quasi-ghost uniforms is better than the tired gimmick black uniforms with the red numbers on them that you canāt read at a distance, or the oh so odd camo pattern uniforms some teams have misguidedly worn. Whether the Cougars again try to channel the spirit of the Oilers after this game may depend on if we win Saturday. Losing to UTSA in TEDCU again would, however, be a very āOilerā thing to do.

I like them. I just donāt like them for UH. I donāt like when they wear the black either. However, I get why they do it. Iāll get over it.

Iām really digging these uniforms, no doubt about it! In my opinion, these uniforms could play a key role in attracting both casual fans and those who didnāt attend college. Interestingly enough, that particular crown is a significant portion of the Texanās fan base.
