I’m just going off of previous experience. The horns and aggies never have to contend with the SOS argument in the rankings debate.
I would be very interested in NDSU. We would probably lose, but it would be an interesting game. That being said, I like SFA as an opponent. Good local interest. Prairie View and TSU don’t do it for me. I do like to return the favor to TSU though as they’ve been great neighbors. We just don’t get a ton of interest from the game outside of the third ward.
We are putting together a long term arrangement to play Rice in FB…Pez wants it, and so does CDH…They are an old SWC school, and a long time rival, and its fair to say the 2 schools and their fan bases have despised one another for a long time…Playing Rice gives us an extra home game where ever game is played, crowd wise…We have played them over 40 times, and they are a rival, whether some of you like it or not…Bring them on, and lets beat them as bad as we can!
Not only are they a rival, but they’re one of the few we still own the series on. We are the dominant big brother in the series. Let’s go take care of business. Ruck Fice.
I would like to play Rice going forward, but not every year, since the Big 12 formula is 1 P5, 1 G5, 1 FCS. For the sake of variety, I’d like a rotation of nearby schools (not smu) like most people have mentioned.
On the FCS front, I am of the opinion that we should play FCS schools that are within driving distance (TSU, PV, SFA, Southern, Grambling state, McNeese st, etc.).
I’m not going to lie I just want to host the teams that’ll travel the most fans. I don’t care what level they’re on. I just want to see TDECU packed out each game. It’s a heck of a lot of fun when it’s full and rocking.
