a fan of an opposing school taking a picture of their flag in front of our dear shasta statue?? and using profanity on x dot com, a site known for being ever so family friendly, to boot?? mercy me, i think i might get the vapors.
I went over to the UTSA alumni tailgate for a short time with my UTSA friend. I saw several people wearing UT shirts.
My wife graduated from UT and yes if you can’t get into UT you go to UTSA.
Every year a thread is created that talks about how horrible ( insert team name here) the fans are from that school.
Like you and a few others have said….EVERY school has a handful of fans that ruffle feathers.
UTSA fans deserve a lot of credit IMO….they love their school, the team and are really building something.
I like the budding rivalry with UTSA.
That said, someone’s flying a UTSA flag at their house on Scott St in Foster Place. I peed in the gas tank of their car and farted on the knob of their front door. Get out of Houston with that ****!!!
Some of the worst fans were Oklahoma St when they lost years ago when Case was the QB. A fight almost was going to go down.
I like it when there are a lot of opposition fans…Coogs fans gotta step up because there’s a whole new level fans coming.
I sit in section 130 and they were fine for the most part. The lady in her late 20s sitting behind me with her dad was being disrespectful but I quickly defused her in about 30 seconds when I asked her about Clark playing and told her how much I liked Coach Traylor. After that, she completely toned it down.
As for the UH a-hole sitting in 131 in row 3, he was a complete d*ck to nearby UTSA fans and kept screaming at their bench that this was their Super Bowl or some garbage like that. He was a prick. Not something a fellow UH fan ever wants to see.
My point is, we’re not infallible or immune to having our share of sh*t fans.
Next time just keep yelling “Meep meep!”
They all seemed to quiet down after that.
Except the road runner always got over in the cartoon.
Maybe that is the reason they became quiet. The logic was flawed. We became the birds and they became the coyote.
We had an 7 or 8 yr old girl hurling insults for about 1 and 1/2 qtrs and it was hurting my ears bc she was just behind us but she finally got worn out then we were ok but I blame the utsa parents for allowing it. I was tempted to go tell them it’s ok to cheer for your team but the non stop aggravation needs to stop but I’d prob get kicked out bc prob a fight but if it kept up all game , I would have talked to them. I like opposing fans at our games but the wood peckers were irritating. One of our guys then starting yelling back saying river walkers.
It’s ok to cheer for your school but don’t be an irritating fan.
Wood peckers are irritating.
If we play them again at home, we should say , “utsa, satellite bit….ches”
It was non stop from the kid, not kidding in a high pitched voice into my ears.
Run the trap play. Run the trap play.
A guy yelled that hundreds of times lol. He had on swimming trunks and a huge shirt. Lol I thought it was funny but apparently many around me didn’t.
TE over the middle! He said that 10 or 15 times. Throw it to the sideline… lol
This was a UH fan btw. For almost the whole game he nonstop was yelling.
We had a guy in front of us in section 129 who did upside down Cougar paws at the whole crowd when they were driving down the field and then the next play Harris threw his first INT in the red zone. Then he threw another and that guy’s whole party left with him - absolutely hilarious. Also had a guy to my right that was just really obnoxious and was mocking a Uh Fan behind me.
All the UTSA fans that I met were nice. Interestingly, they all went to UTSA , but were UT fans first, saying that UT had a better chance of going to the playoffs than UTSA.
I had utsa on both sides of me and they were behaved but the girl behind me was unbelievably irritating for non stop , every play for 1 1/2 qts till worn out in a high pitched voice lol
I’m not surprised, but this did not match my experience at all yesterday. Nothing but friendly interactions, but with that many opposing fans in the stadium there are bound to be some jerks.
Towards the end of the game, there was nearly a fight in sectio 127. An older UH fan was trying to climb up 2 rows to beat down a younger UTSA fan. I think the UTSA fan insulted the Coog fan’s lady.
…beg to differ…I would like ongoing series w/ Navy. Great atmosphere, great fans, and great town.
GO COOGS!!
And dirty blocking schemes.
Previously was against playing SMU while they were in the AAC. But with their move to the ACC, I’d like to keep the Houston-Dallas hatred running. If we’re playing someone from the G5, let it be Rice or Notth Texas.
Good primer for TCU and Texas coming to town
