Uzan: Declares for the draft, has until May 28th to decide to return

Why even bring these odds up if they’re not yours or you don’t believe in them lol.

you can turn down teams if they want to draft you ahead of the guarantee but earlier in the 2nd … many intentionally go undrafted (opposed to late 2nd) for guaranteed deals with teams… being traded is also fine, youd still get your 3yrs in the league to find a spot

odds… comfortable favorite … to 1 of many teams that have a shot… it was favorite to no chance

I mean that’s how everyone in Coogfans sees it lol.

Not news breaking.

imo femming isn’t starting either way… imo its pop at PG if milos is gone… a senior or RSJR

I can see that. But it becomes interesting if Uzan isn’t back.

i meant without uzan

pop -sr
sharp -sr
harwell
cenac
tugler - jr

Yes, I know. I don’t think Flemings will have a case to start with Uzan back. He absolutely will if Uzan is not back.

He can absolutely beat out Pop.

@Sideways  what am I missing here?

2024 Mock?

i think by seasons end for sure,
but at the start of the season… ill be shocked if pop isnt the starter game 1

for 3 reasons

  1. pop is older, tons of experience, had success in the big 12, the game is already slowed down for him…
  2. i cant imagine us starting 3 freshmen to start the year - which i think kills the harwell/flemmings starting line up
  3. i cant imagine starting flemming and pop together early season (before flemming figures the rotation -he isnt that big at 6’3 and only 175lbs), both together might be one of the worst defensive perimeters we might have ever put out with sampson

Pollard these were the actual 2nd rd picks from last yrs draft. Just pointing out how many of the picks wound up being traded (15 of the 28). With the thought being a team may wind up telling Milos that they intend to draft him but who knows as they may wind up trading the pick. He could potentially wind up being picked by a team who don’t want to give him guaranteed $$.

Teams don’t throw away their picks on players looking for guarantee unless they plan to offer it, see Shead last year

I thinks it’s more of the Jamal ahead approach rather than the Marcus sasser approach.

You don’t think every player chosen in the 2nd rd isn’t wanting guaranteed money? Wanting it and getting it are two different things. Say the player stays in the draft and doesn’t go back to school. He’s then chosen in the 2nd rd by a team. What leverage does that player have if the team doesn’t want to give him any guaranteed money? Go overseas? Hold out? My point of all this is there’s no guarantee that things play out the way the player and a team wants it to before the draft. How many times over the yrs has a player heard “if you’re available when we pick we’re going to draft you”? In the NBA and NFL drafts.

So why did those teams pass over Shead?

No idea. Maybe they didn’t want him or they wanted someone else.

Teams could’ve drafted him but it’s not worth the headache if he says he won’t sign a contract with

That’s fair.

I have gone from feeling like there was a 10% chance Uzan is back to close to 50% today.
