Walker has stepped up

He just can’t seem to get on the floor, for some reason.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, what position is Jarace playing for the Coogs ? ? ? ? ?

power forward

I just checked the UH roster and he is not on it. I have also looked at the game results and don’t see his name anywhere. I guess he is playing power forward for the U of H under an assumed name . . . . .

i get it now, you missed the joke…the OP said walker needs to step up (indirectly referencing ramon walker)

eric made a joke because the OP only used the name “walker” and said “Jarace” Walker does need to step up (our incoming recruit), because is also a “Walker”

Like who?

Taze is getting more confident ball-handling

Are there any past Houston players that Taze reminds you of?

“Taze reminds me of a QB that will throw 4/5 touchdowns and 4/5 interceptions”.

Haha! This is pretty accurate. Kind of like Brett Favre. Makes some spectacular passes, but also some head scratching turnovers. I love the zip and spin he can put on his passes though.

I think Walker is playing pretty good for a freshman , has hit some big shots … Taze- coach said after one of his plays , either he or the other coach is going to be happy … think both will be big down the stretch and in March … Go Coogs !!

Duh !

Yes he had probably his best game.
I understand he has skills, and a good body right now, and is a freshman, but he just hasn’t shown much yet.
Previous totals from previous 6 games:
1-1 fg, 2 pts
1-2 fg, 3pts
1-7 fg, 2 pts
1-5 fg, 2 pts
1-4 fg, 5 pts
0-4 fg, 0 pts

These aren’t good numbers. And with getting good minutes. That’s unproductive. I know we don’t have much else at guard and I want him to show improvement. But those are his numbers since his last good game at temple.
Hoping to see a little better consistency shooting with all the minutes he gets.

And please don’t tel me that I just look at box scores. I watch all the games and have season tickets. That’s such a weak comment.

Too bad we didn’t have Coogfans during the period between Pat Foster and Tom Penders.

And you think everyone else including himself doesn’t want him to start making his shots. Bottom line is he has been a good shooter in the past and at some point is likely to settle down and start making his shots and contributing in more ways. May happen next week, next month or next season. I get frustrated at times but difference is I don’t feel the need to call him out during his development.

We all seem to think his hand is fully healed.

Maybe that has something to do with it.

Are some of you idiots? Do you read any of the thread prior to posting? The kid had surgery last Fall on his shooting hand. Like all healing, it takes time. Especially when you’re having to play through the recovery. Jeeze.

Only thing weak around here is this thread

Taze never lacked in confidence and he hit two really big treys at UCF.
He played his normal great D against Tulane but made costly turnovers and was 5-16 from the field.
From what I saw coach was not happy with some of decisions

I think Walkers biggest issue on offense is that his head is moving fast than his body. He just hasn’t fully gotten in sync with the speed of college baskeball nor the way Sampson likes the Coog’s speed to be at in games. Once his mind slows down in game we should see more improvement on offense.
