Ware, Klingler, Kolb, Keenum, Ward, King, Weigman

Nobles was really good.

He lost only one game in 1973. By 7 points on the road at Auburn.

Clayton Tune definitely belongs on this list, even though his initials don’t fit. He was an all-time great UH QB.

My personal favorites were Case Keenum and Greg Ward.

When you talk about favorites vs. best, those lists aren’t always the same.

My top 5 favorite QB’s are:
Kolb
Keenum
Ware
Klingler
Ward

Honorable mentions: Chuck Clements and Donald Douglas

No real UH fan was turned off by Ward or King’s play.

If they have a problem with King and Ward scrambling but had nothing to say about Kolb’s , Keenum or Weigman’s
well I don’t need to spell it out for you.

I remember there was this guy who used to post named Davy Crockett that used to call Ward’s play style “streetball” (interesting choice of words) and wanted O’Korn or Schulz badly. Wonder what happened to that guy?

Are those in order?

Yes

Nice! I dig the Kevin Kolb respect.

We’re on the same page. I was saying what the establishment naysayers were saying at draft time
 and earlier.

I love all coogs and prefer exciting styles of play and resourceful make something out of nothing that all the aforementioned qbs had.

My personal favorites were Case Keenum and Danny Davis.

Speaking of former QBs, yikes Clayton Tune! What in the heck happened? Ugly stat line.

If someone has an issue with Ward, then they’re nuts. The guy lead us to arguably the biggest win in Program history.

Weigman named to the Great 8

I don’t know anyone who has an issue with Ward, but the win against FSU was only one of the biggest wins in program history, but not the biggest. FSU was ranked 8th in the polls.

When we beat Maryland in the 1977 Cotton Bowl, they were ranked #4.

When we beat Nebraska in the 1980Cotton Bowl, they were ranked #7.

When we beat defending national champions and then #3 Michigan State in 1967 that put us on the map nationally.

I will say that when Ward led us to victory in the Peach Bowl, it did cap a season that revived our program for a short while.

Kolb & Case had revived it and Ward put us back in the national convo

Then AppleDana happened and luckily we’ve landed Willie!

You’re mentioning stuff from 50-60 years ago. It did nothing for us by 2015.

Well, the post to which I replied, said the Peach Bowl win was, “arguably the biggest win in Program history.” Program history goes all the way back to 1946, not just within the age of younger posters.

That’s a big deal. Hopefully that puts Weigman on the Heisman list. I think we are going to have a great season, and that should make Weigman a high draft choice next year. Big for him and the program.

Ward scrambling and finding Linell Bonner for one-toe-inbound grabs on the sidelines were a thing of beauty

Yes at these times we were in a power conference
you know like today?

We were independent when we beat Michigan State in 1967.
