Just prove it on the field.

I don’t know how anyone can make any reasonable rankings with the way rosters fluctuate these days.

Maybe it’s possible with the usual suspects because they’re going to get top talent whether it’s through high school recruiting or transfers.

But after the top 10 or 15 teams, seems to me there’s no way to really know with most teams.

The ESPN power index has been widely ridiculed lately.

Talk about underrated. There’s no way we’re worse than 59!:man_shrugging:

Power ratings at seasons end are important. At beginning of the year they mean NOTHING. Ask Arizona State…

Preseason predictions have essentially become meaningless given the Portal. I mean UH has brought in 29 guys. That’s enough players to start on offense and defense with seven left for special teams.

We or anyone else out there won’t know too much about this years team’s potential until they take the field together for the 1st time. What gives me hope is that you can make an entire offense out of nothing but this year’s transfer class and there’d be plenty of experience and past success there. Hopefully this is an indicator that we are going to hit on a bunch of these guys that are new to our team.

As far as the new guys, QB Weigman obviously has started parts of 3 seasons in the SEC throwing for a decent amount of TD’s and passing yards. Our 2 new TE’s add over a thousand receiving yards to our TE room. The 2 new wideouts add over a thousand receiving yards to their position group as well. And Connors alone adds over one thousand rushing/receiving yards from last year to the RB room.

It will ultimately come down to how good our offensive line play is. The new guys Wykoff, Brooks, Merryman, Ebosele and Agnello all look good on paper. We really really need the offensive line to be better than they have been in a number of years.

I’ll stick with Lindy’s.

They have us at #48.
