Even Holgo has no confidence in it. Keeps running out the clock with minutes before the half. Won’t go for it on 4th and Short, deep in opponent territory with us have a very good D.
I see talent on the OLine, and all over the skill positions, but they are asked to make some difficult reach blocks. And apparently, we have no safety valve receivers when the opponent blitzes.
Scrap this O, and get one that fits the talent on hand. Worst O since Bush…maybe worse.
Tune was confused by whatever schemes they were running. And too many times he was forcing passes into double and triple coverage, missing wide open targets…
He regressed a lot. Whatever ECU was throwing at him, you can bet SMU is on it…
What did we have…57 sacks ?
I think Dana thought he was going to come out and run the ball on ECU and play TOP and let our D continue to keep them from crossing the 50, but we couldn’t run the ball… Then a turnover and an encroachment on 4th down gave them scoring opportunities.
This is by far the worst offense we’ve had at this school in the last 20 years. It’s too slow. Gives the defense too much time to switch. Too deliberate and no creativity. Very disappointed in Dana’s performance. This team so undisciplined and has no structure. Very disappointed. It is certainly not worth 7,000 dollars a year for football tickets. I’m out!
We are 6-1. His job isn’t to have a productive offense, it is to win.
If we fire coaches for average offenses, we will be looking for a new basketball coach.
He is building this thing the way Sampson did. Good defense is consistent and it travels. Offenses by their very nature are inconsistent. Very good defense coupled with just enough offense to win is a championship formula.
A lot of people don’t remember but Yeoman’s veer could look horrible at times. The mad dog defense kept them in games until the veer could get going.
