The point spread for App State @ Aggy was about half of the one for Texas State @ UH.

But I’m not really going by point spread. Nobody expected App State to walk out of Kyle Field with a win, just as nobody from their Michigan game.

Oregon State offensive lineman Van Wells and defensive back Jaheim Patterson, represented by Stoel Rives LLP, filed a temporary restraining order against the NCAA in the state of Oregon seeking immediate eligibility Tuesday.

Oregon State football head coach JaMarcus Shephard said Monday that linebacker Aiden Sullivan will likely be available to play week one, but defensive back Exodus Ayers’ status is undetermined.
The pair of defenders are both facing felony charges stemming from separate incidents and have practiced with the team throughout fall camp. Oregon State faces No. 23 Houston on the road Saturday.
Sullivan was arrested by Corvallis Police Department on August 10 and released the following day.
He is accused of one count of felony assault in the second degree and two misdemeanor counts of assault in the fourth degree. The alleged incident, which occurred in early April, left one victim with a “serious physical injury” and a second was “knowingly or recklessly injured” by Sullivan, according to court records obtained by The Portland Tribune.
Sullivan pled not guilty to all three charges in his August 11 arraignment and was released on a $5,000 bond. He had a Status Check with the Benton County Circuit Court on August 25 and has another set for September 15.
Shephard said the linebacker, whose 72 tackles in 2025 are the Beavers’ most amongst returners in 2026, will be available for week one as of Monday.
“Aiden Sullivan, as of right now, I haven’t been told he can’t go on Saturday,” Shephard said. “So we’re planning to have him there on Saturday.”
Ayers was arrested by CPD in early November 2025 and is accused of four Class C Felonies, 13 Class A Misdemeanors and one Class C Misdemeanor.
All 18 charges Ayers is accused of occurred between September 2024 and April 2025, with one victim, Ayers’ ex-girlfriend, named in court documents.
At the time of this article’s publication, his next court appearance is not scheduled.
Ayers did not play a snap for the Beavers in 2025 under former head coach Trent Bray, though he practiced with the team in the spring prior to his arrest and in the fall after it. He has practiced with the Beavers throughout this fall’s camp.

Spacecity Weather reports that a lot of moisture will still be lingering around leading to possible showers in the coming days. Hopefully it misses downtown.
Saturday
This will be another day with ample moisture, so similar to Thursday and Friday I expect a healthy chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will get hit, of course, and the way it usually works in Houston is if you’re desperate for rain it’s dry, whereas two neighborhoods over it’s raining cats and dogs. Highs should peak in the low 90s.

I went on the Joe Beaver radio show in Corvallis to talk with Mike Parker, Oregon State’s play-by-play voice for the last 27 years. We discussed the 2026 UH season and the matchup against the Beavers, last year’s game, and UH athletics history.
