They beat Kentucky State (a bad Division 2 school) 34-14, to open their season 1-0.
Then lost this past weekend to Alabama State 30-17 to go 1-1.
I think the line is @50 points.
I’d take the “over”.
Walkover win against an overmatched opponent.
A good chance for the second and third string to get some reps.
Maybe correct Week One mistakes.

Kentucky State has actually been a pretty good D2 school these last few years.
That said, we should see a lot of rep work this weekend and plenty of Keisean.
Weigman, Thomas, Overmyer and the rest of the 1s should get pulled by halftime or early 3rd.
We’re gonna smack 'em around. This one won’t be close. Halftime will be fun though, weather permitting.
If you say so, but I’ve followed D2 Football for 30 years and have never seen them sniff the playoffs.
I think they made it into the playoffs, last year, for the 1st time ever, and got thumped in the first round.
My point is, Southern had to play a D2 school to get a Win.
Southern is probably in the bottom 15-20% of FCS programs, and I think I’m being generous in saying that.
The Coog’s 2s could probably beat them by 20-30, and the 3s would walk away with a “W”.
Keisean is gonna have a Field Day.
Does Southern have any players to watch?
Their head coach is an icon.

I don’t think we’ve even touched 40 in the CWF era. We should be able to name our number in this one, I just think we don’t name a number that covers the spread.

I think the Coogs score on almost every drive, no matter who Willie rolls out onto the field.
I don’t believe the defense will allow Southern into the end zone.

Can we beat them by 50? Yes. Will CWF do that? I don’t think he will.
Probably a very short second half running the ball and trying to stay healthy.

Ideally, CW gets his 250 passing yards (and 50 on the ground) in the first half….
…then KH plays the entire 3rd quarter (and most of the 4th) for another couple hundred yards.
When Keisean comes in, it won’t be to hand the ball off every play.
Then Willie gets EVERY PLAYER on the roster in the game for at least a snap.
450 passing yards and 300 rushing.
I want to see Paris Melvin and Johnny Hebert.

How about this?
On defense…NO TDs allowed…six or fewer points allowed…fewer than 10 first downs allowed…at least four turnovers…and win the turnover margin.
On special teams…NO missed FGs or XPs…punts average over 40 yards, no significant returns from Southern…at least one deep return or return for TD from us.

Not sure we’ll cover but I do think the offense has the potential to be a little more explosive than the last two seasons. I think we can get over 40 a couple times this year.

Their scheduled to play in Houston 3 times this year - based on past appearances at UH they would get the least amount of time to shine
