I think you also provided evidence that climate change is happening. Great research.
I was trying not to open that can of worms (at least out loud) but yeah…this is a problem that’s gonna keep getting worse.
And no Sunday games.
[ducking]
God controls the climate not man. He warns of calamities
Yeah
but in football nobody else does either
I assume you tried using AI. Unsurprisingly it got it incorrect. AI is really really bad trying to get info like this. Best you can do is add to your prompt, only return answers that you can verify and include links to the source. If not it is just going to take wild a$$ guesses.
In 1998 our home opener was vs Minnesota not Oregon State, we lost 14-7. The game was at 7PM according to Wikipedia, but I cant find a boxscore to verify that.
Grok AI. Internet really doesn’t show start times. But we had a good share of early starts at the Rob and evening too as mentioned
Not that it really matters

Notes: Official UH athletics historical schedules often mark older games as “TBA.” Wikipedia tables (drawing from contemporary box scores, media guides, and TV listings) provide the most complete publicly available kickoff data. For any missing entries or verification, cross-check University of Houston Athletics archives, Sports-Reference, or contemporary newspaper/TV listings. Times can vary slightly by source due to local vs. network reporting.
So just using available Wikipedia you listed, we had 4 Noon or earlier Robertson games from 1998 to 2012

One of which was the conference championship
From Grok just in 2012 we had 4-5 games within 11:00- 4:00
Why are you mucking up the conversation with all those east coast and northeast early games? You’re ruining your own case that you’re trying to fabricate. Your contention is that we’ve always had early games in Houston at the same rate as we have since joining the Big 12, just not true.
Not fabricating nothing.i never said we had more early games than B12 but close to it. Used Meta and Grok to pull up game times. I had season tickets during Rob era and remember hot early games
This game was HOT AS HELL!!!
I remember chasing shade in the endzone seats…
Until we start selling out a small stadium, our requests for later time slot will probably be denied. It is up to us, to sell out the stadium and be ranked, then we might move up in time slots.
That has almost nothing to do with it.
I think the days of big stadiums are over. TV rules. We don’t have any money but if we did I would reduce the 300 level and just put party patios and pools up there for the future 11 AM games…
I see zero correlation
Our AD specifically asked the B![quote=“Cougardue, post:116, topic:70593, full:true”]
I see zero correlation

Our AD specifically asked the B12 for a later game for a specific reason, Friday night HOF ceremony, and were denied. Being ranked #20 and playing a good UCF team you would think the B12 would go along with the request and move another game to the early slot, but no. Why? Later games get more eyeballs and B12 wants to promote a full stadium for games, IMO.
It is not the Big12’s call. ESPN/FOX/TNT pick the times. And later games do not get significantly better ratings. For ESPN2 the noon and 3 pm games regularly get more viewers than the 7pm game.
Our 11am game is due to espn. They choose to have atm and Arkansas at 6pm CT on espn2.
atm is 2-2 and Arkansas is 2-2. Both are unranked. Knowing this espn is not doing a damn thing to help us with attendance.
You, the UH fans/customers. Would you rather have a 6pm CT start time or an 11am CT start time? Which time slot will help us fill our stadium? Was it a night game last year at UCF? I was there. It was indeed dark and the space theme was in full display. Space theme at 11am?
None of this has anything to do with the stadium, it all has to do with TV ratings, and if our numbers keep trending the way they are we will see some primetime this year, we already have 2:30 on Fox for the KSU game.
Does anybody remember I think it was 2013, the conference was coming off the deal with CBS SN and ESPN News at 11:00AM or 2:30 was our usual time slot.
