What are some movies you can watch over and over?

I only watch that once a year, June 6. My dad dragged me to see it when it opened at the local movie theater. Trying to impress upon me how important that day was.

Weird fact: my dad joined the Army 11/20/42. I joined 11/30/72

Used Cars, the original with Kurt Russell is outstanding.
Robert Zemeckis is/maybe the best Director of all time. Please, everyone admire his resume, just amazing.

Private Ryan is good but it was not filmed on the Normandie beaches or in Normandie. I am from Normandie and The Longest Day is “real” My dad was in his early teens, hiding in the ditch with bombs falling and landing close by. My grandfather was in the resistance. Caen the town I was born was destroyed by about 70%. There were no smart bombs then.
Normandie not only had D.Day friends but this is where the Normands came from. The same Normands that conquered England. William the Conqueror is from Normandie. He was born just a few miles away from where I was born. The Normands were Vikings that settled there.
Some hate this country but without the U.S.A. the free world would not exist…and consequently great movies would not be made.

William Wallace says Hold My Beer

Of course I rewatch Christmas time movies, as we probably all do. Die Hard, Christmas Story, White Christmas, Miracle on 34th, Elf…

and we would all be speaking German

And the Norman decedents still own most of the land in Britton a thousand years later

Fun fact. Normans got their name from “north men.”

What the people in Normandy consider “shrimp” and “prawn” are simply absurd. A shrimp in Normandy is too small for bait in Texas

Great list; I’d add Once Upon a Time in the West Claudia Cadinale…

Edit - not a lot of superhero genre on the lists , but original Ironman and Hancock
will always trap me for a rewatch.

The seafood in Normandie is unreal. Normandie is known for its agriculture. (yes tons of cheeses like camembert) Dairy, meat, apples, pears, cherries, vegetables and yes Calvados (apple brandy) My grandma used to add a drop of Calvados in her sugar cubes for her coffee.

This is still the greatest of all time.

I watch it before every Olympics.

Which means……IT’S TIME!!!

I realize that I am out of step with the rest of the world, but I do not enjoy watching any movie the second time. Once I have seen it and know what is going to happen throughout, a second watch is a waste of time. No “re-runs” for me. Anybody else with this defect?
