These are the Big 12 bowl tie ins in order of selection.

If BYU does not make the playoffs, I see us playing in the Texas Bowl. If BYU does make the playoffs, I see us playing in the Pop Tarts Bowl. Utah is the 3rd place team in the Big 12 so I think they will be selected before us.

UH Life confirmed at their last meeting the pop tarts bowl is not an option for us. Only the Alamo and Texas bowls are options for us.

That’s exactly why I hope it’s the Texas bowl. It’s on my off day and I don’t have to travel far.

Both writers for ESPN website have us playing Miami or Georgia Tech in Pop Tarts Bowl.

I would trust our admin over writers. Side note they also made it clear to buy the tickets directly from UH. We don’t get a dime if the tickets are bought on resale, and they further said the they don’t credit the attendance for re-sale tickets for either school.

If it is the Texas Bowl, expect ut (assuming they don’t make it into the CFP), Tennessee, Vandy or LSU.

Imagine if we hand Kiffin his first victory as LSU coach.

UT would turn down a bowl matchup with UH. I don’t think Kiffin would be coaching the bowl game.

The Alamo Bowl would be a blast. So much fun last spring with the Final Four. But, it would be a kick to play LSU in the Texas Bowl.

I was in San Antonio last year for Christmas staying on the riverwalk and it was flooded with fans from both schools there for the game. bands playing and different events - really pretty cool.

I will be there again this year so really hoping UH gets the Alamo Bowl

These are the Big 12 tie-ins. There are also the Holiday, Las Vegas and Sun with Pac 12 ties ins that still include the 4 corner schools. I would expect the AZ schools and Utah to get a look by those bowls as well which could move UH up the list.

For opponents, remember the SEC gets to pick their match ups for the mid bowls. They do not let the bowls pick. So if UT does not want to play UH in the Texas Bowl then the SEC may slot them elsewhere assuming not CFP.
