What does the AAC do next?

Not so fast…my friends !
“The (Air Force Academy Foundation) and several big donors are vehemently against the move,” a source wrote to The Gazette on Tuesday."

Not a deal breaker but it does make adding non MWC teams look more appealing.
The time to make the MWC move was when UGone left.

Going back 5 + seasons to 2015.
Won alot of games but Boise finished ranked 3 times.
Best final ranking was 22nd in 2017.
This season could be the 1st time unranked at some point since 2001.
They still can make the Top 25 w @ #13 BYU and @ #18 Fresno on the schedule.

Boise has no “gravitas”…Memphis would be far superior an add than Boise, but better still would be to wait 15 years at 12 schools, until the ACC is raided and disintegrates…Miami, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse, and Boston College will be begging for a new conference.

Pam likes Memphis

As an academic institution (which I’m guessing is what he means by “gravitas”), Boise is a pretty weak one but improving very quickly. The state is just pouring resources into the school with an eye towards making it basically a co-flagship. But they’re starting form an SHSU-level institution. They did recently reach R2, though. But it’s still bad enough to be a liability in the Big 12’s discussions, I suspect.

"administrators and school presidents are concerned that the last ship for any potential upward mobility from FCS to FBS, or from Division II to Division I, may be about to set sail.

“A lot of people are nervous,” said one Division I athletics director. “If you want to make a move, you’re at the crossroads. You have to do it now.”

Another paywall one you sent.

No. My “gravitas” remark was purely historical, in the competitive sense.

Which one ? Neither for me. Just double checked them.

Denver Post. Newspapers are not going to let you read the articles for free after the first few. I’m sure over the prev mos, yrs., I reached my 5 limit or whatever limit they put on. Just seems most of what you send is paywall stuff.

I meant WVUFan’s.

Oh…

Boise State Rejects AAC Invite in Hopes of Future Big 12 Invite: Report

Wow, give Boise a couple years and let 'em sweat without two key members. They had 36,700 fans for the OK State game and almost won. They beat Utah State on the road which was solid.

Right move. They’re bound for the B12.

That’s a helluva gamble by Boise.

TCU had the right approach. Stay agile, nimble, pack lightly, and any chance you get… move up.

Boise St.'s academics are on par with that of a junior college…Memphis is also less than stellar in the realm of academia…this should matter to at least some of the university presidents…

If you’re fighting for conference survival you have to go with the program that makes that work. Boise is s national brand.

It’s not a sure thing that Boise State is next in line to come to the Big12. In 3 or 4 years of the PAC12 doing well, BSU may be invited to the Big12 but if the PAC12 still has issues, some of those teams may want to leave therefore they could get invites to the Big12 before Boise State does.

No one knows what’s going to happen.
