What is ESPN’s offer to an expanded AAC?

I’m like, 60% sure my apartment’s lease contains that same sentence. A warning to tread lightly near my landlord’s property management company, I’m sure.

Exactly. And if your rental agreement was worth 1.2 billion over 8 years you’d be careful how you characterized your landlord in public. He/She might remind you with that conclusion.

Remedies means damages and that means you are about to get sued. It sounds innocuous, but is a very important term.

Saban could retire a few years after both join the SEC so everyone in the league will be better off once that happens.

Yeah but all but vandy and Kentucky will keep wanting to win and firing and hiring to win. UT and OU walked into the toughest league that won’t stop. Prob miss st , ole miss , vandy and Kentucky have no chance. S car might be average. Arkansas might revive so you have lsu , bama, ga, aurburn, fla, A&M , ut, OU ,tenn and bama will keep trying and firing till they get it right. It’s a league that if uh was invited to would be great but it’s hell’s road keeping up bc mostly big dogs. Espn messed up college fb bc having 4 or so big dogs in each conf was the best which lasted till around 1990.

I don’t think Oklahoma St. is going to want to be in a conference with Tulsa. OSU > Tulsa

The AAC doesn’t need SMU with both Tech and TCU.

I have heard talk of AAC going to 20. I don’t see it. ESPN isn’t paying enough money to make the viable. I think AAC dumps 3 teams and rolls with 16.

They generally don’t dump teams and temple is the only 1 ever. Plus the bigs in the new aac need them for wins.

No conference has had a reason to dump teams until now.

I think teams are going to be left behind when all is said and done. I just hope UH is not one of them.

They wouldn’t have to be dumped since we could just leave them behind and unify under the Big 12 charter.

ESPNs play with the AAC is to have full ownership. If they can add value to what they own completely and continue building their portfolio why wouldn’t they. Sure there is some lame ducks in the conference, but you own it completely. Versus the 12 you have 50%. Would you rather feed 3-4 extra mouths you own completely, or reap 1/2 the same profits?

You don’t think that the SEC would love to throw Vanderbilt and Mississippi State right in the trash? Or that the Big 12 would have wanted to give Baylor the boot amidst the Briles fiasco? Is Wazzu really a P5-level program?

Giving a conference member the boot is an absolutely drastic measure, because everyone else in the conference knows they could be next.

This all goes back to the money. The teams you listed do not negatively effect the money those conferences bring in. It is just the opposite on for whatever happens to the Leftover 8. This new conference can’t have any dead weight because it needs to get the best deal it can get.

Once OU and Texas join, ten of the sixteen teams in the SEC will be able to fit two of Vanderbilt’s football stadium in theirs. They’ve been in the SEC for nearly 90 years and haven’t won a conference title. They’re traditionally a little better in Basketball, but they still haven’t won a regular-season conference title in that sport since the early 90s. They’re as dead weight as dead weight gets, and yet there they are in THE top Football conference.

To put all of that into context, you’re suggesting that we kick Tulane – a school that, to this day, fifty-six years after leaving the conference, has as many SEC championships as Vanderbilt in the two major sports – to the curb for being dead weight.

No what I am saying is whatever conference that is formed from what is going on is not going to be able to have a lot teams considered to not to bring a lot to the conference. This conference will need to be made up of the best teams they can get and some teams will be left behind.

20 is more than is optimal but 'only the most valuable" has its own problems IMO. My ideal number is 12 or preferably 14.
