To released single
If I had a buck for every time I spun up Sittinā on the Dock of the Bay in the dormsā¦ā¦
Iām old but I prefer new music. I think finding new acts/artists keeps you young.
Been listening to a lot of deep cuts from the Seattle grunge scene as of late
Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam etc
I feel for the kids nowadays. Theyāll never get to experience a totally new genre of music like us old timers. Imagine hearing rock and roll for the first time. Iām not that old but old enough to hear RAP come out, and electronic music. That was pretty revolutionary. What do kids have now?
I see it differently. The old music we remember is the best of the best from that era. There was so much crap then tooā¦we just forgot about it.
Years ago a local FM station did a throwback day to celebrate the anniversary of their first day broadcasting. They did the same playlist of that day from the 60s. I tried all day to listen but it was total crap. So many songs Iād never heard before for good reason.
Kids nowadays are just going through the same thing we didā¦plus theyāll get to the hear the best from the past as well.
If you havent heard it before, its new to you
I guess, and get off my yard!
Here is the oldest recording i like. I discovered it this year. 70 years before the Beastie Boys put out āHey Ladiesā. History and music is fascinating, see how different the singing style was
Apparently, thereās some good country out there if you can wade through the pop-country crapā¦
Morgan Wallen has a good cover of this one too.
LOL Cheers.
Speaking of oldiesā¦
Last fall I went to the Preservation Jazz Hall in New Orleans, highly highly recommend btw, and the 7 piece band, with zero amplifiers, played this song. Itās a great song and might stick in your head (youāve been warned). Song was originally written in the 1920s.
I doubt that is true. There will be innovations and new styles come in the future.
Dub step, wait for the drop ugh, so far any new musical style of 2000s has been forgettable. Retro styles keep coming back but sooner or latter the search for a new style will be back.
Yes Soul Kitchen !!!
Crystal Ships ā¦
I donāt know WTF Hutchins was doing.
But anyway he wrote incredible lyrics.
KICK certainly full of awesome songs. On that album Shabooh Shoobah, āThe One Thingā I like a lot.
The Man From Waco is solid
