What’s With Poor Security

THIS :rage::rage::rage:
Return of the Gestapo… Once again a company has been hired to check tickets at the entrance of each aisle. I get it. They are doing their job, but when they are STILL checking tickets in the 3rd and 4th quarter, when coming back from hydration break, and EMPTY SEATS EVERYWHERE, it’s ridiculous !!! I also witnessed security being called on elderly folks just searching for a shaded area to get out of today’s heat.

Snapped pics of security in an empty student section. As a charter TDECU season ticket holder, I found this very disheartening and appalling. Survey after survey on ways to improve FAN EXPERIENCE, and this is how we treat OUR VERY OWN FANS? We have got to do better !!!

BTW, were all the confiscated student Tshirts kept by security for their own use? Were they thrown away? This is how we treat our students who are our future?

Yeah I tried to grab a shirt at halftime. Shouldn’t be gatekeeping at all with such week attendance. That and $20 beers and $40 parking is insane when they can’t fill the stadium. Incredibly short sighted.

Anyone that wants a shirt can probably go to Traders’ Village and buy one today for $15

I realize its hard to believe, but some of us old coogs actually have to live within a fixed income budget. So, as above a 60$ outlay to park and one beer plus the cost of the ticket(s) amounts to a considerable outlay which no doubt is needed for other foolish things like food. —and there was a time when i had season tics for BB and FB, never thought about the future costs of either.

UH doing what we do. One of the poorest ran athletic departments in the country and definitely bottom 5 in the power 4.

I used to work with our former director of athletic marketing director Tyler Muse’s wife. I think he went to Rice this year. Apparently his successor is quite the “winner.”

What should have been done is take those shirts and walk around and hand them to people when it was obvious the stadium would be 20% capacity. Somebody should have seen that and made a pivot and adjusted. Just lack of common sense and leadership. It’s totally embarrassing year after year. Not making adjustments like a horrible coaching staff. Reminds me of Louisiana Tech running that screen on us about 20 times and we didn’t adjust.

I have gone to other college games and nearly all of the other teams put on a better experience and have their s**t together.

At what point are we going to quit acting like we are CUSA?

So you pissed that security is doing their job, and you call it poor ?

No, don’t twist the comment(s)

What is the need for this “security” :triumph:

Why is UH police monitoring tshirt hand outs :flushed:

Why is gestapo checking tickets late in 2nd half

Do you believe students that lost Tshirts will want to come back? Doubt it

Simple, security is doing their hob, if you didn’t pay for tickets for that section stay away.

If you are not a student , stay away from student section.

Those T shirts are for students, not for general public. If you want one, buy one.

Security and police not at fault, agitator’s should not be tolerated.

So half the posters are pissed because the team and fans are wearing blue. And the other half is pissed that the excess blue jerseys were not made available to the fans.
Yeah, no way to please!

This looks like security in the student section. Never had this problem in other sections that are not club. Security just doing their job keeping non students away. I’m sure you old dudes wanted to grab some shirts and sell em on Facebook

Students were targeted in the student section… look at pics posted

My nephew’s gf was walking out in 4Q and carrying his Tshirt… security took his Tshirt from her

Nobody is stealing or hoarding Tshirts

@Hill sits right there at the top. He texted about this during the game. The student section below him was never close to full and they were harassing people into the 4th quarter. Said UHPD came over and almost arrested someone for taking two t-shirts. Turned at least 100 folks away from the section. And at the end of the game, Mrs. Hill posted that security lined the field of the student section just in case we rushed the field.

Security was doing what they were asked to do. Not their fault.

UH has to know better. None of this was worth people grabbing shirts that weren’t going to be used so we can save them until next year or whatever they plan to do with them.

That’s what they did when I was a student in mid 2000s and they had shirts at a lot of the games. I don’t remember there ever being an issue.
