he is probably still waiting on evaluations to return
One of the âlittle disappointedâ here. Was hoping to see the roster improved.
I think plenty of people are very excited, I know I am. But thereâs still this question mark around Jamal and I think itâs just distracting people from whatâs happening, or making it seem less significant at this point in time.
We are going to be so freaking deep next year itâs unreal.
You canât submit for an evaluation until two days after the Ncaa championship. So, today.
Not sure how long the take to return the evaluations.
Correction: Deadline for responses from the evaluation committee to the applicant is April 27th.
With the current NIL/ transfer poral landscape, it is incredible how CKS has been able to retain these guys to come back. Thatâs the amazing part. With CKS at the helm, this team will always be in good shape. Every year, we see a player make a huge jump in level of play. We saw that with Shead this year. Next season, I see Sharp + Cryer being the deadly guard duo.
Shead will get feedback from the Committee before May 29, 2024. That is the NCAA deadline to withdraw as an early entrant to the draft.
Have to be Enrolled in Classes â (STUDENT ) to be able to play. Basically Grad School Student of course. Think itâs a 6 hour minimum of courses. Just making sure that part is covered.
So while unofficial the latest mock draft has him at 38 an early 2nd rounder. Which of thatâs the feedback he gets he has to go unless he believes he can pay his way into the first round by developing into a Sasser level scorer as well as everything else he already brings.
But overall his stock canât go much higher than where it is now.
The roster is improved just by adding a healthy TA, JoJo, JâWan, and LJ. Add on another year of development for Sharp, Francis, and JoJo in the offseason. McFarland not redshirting. Mercy Miller. The roster is stacked.
And that is before even talking about Uzan. Heâs obviously not Shead. But there were NBA draft guys that thought he could be a first round pick in this upcoming draft if he continued progressing from his freshman season. Heâs got plenty of upside.
Im not entirely sure how that affects the 6th year covid seniors. Regardless, he could always enroll in a non-degree seeking graduate program. Also, if he does decide to come back, somebody else is getting the boot for sure
Thatâs too long? Wonât we miss on all the portal PGâs or at least the best ones?
the best players ij the portal will definitely have chosen their new teams by the end of may so hopefully the evaluation gets done sooner rather than later
If Shead is outside of the first round, his contract is not guaranteed. Come signing a contract, canât you see a NBA GM saying ⊠âbut you were injuredâ. âSign now and weâll take care of you in your next contract.â
Agreed. For me, his value is in his diversity for roles he can fill as a backup, and in bringing a wrinkle to the game (ie when he suddenly has 6 rebounds in a small ball lineup).
Our roster should be set by the end of the weekend.
And it has 2-14
Shead does need to worry about getting that ankle healthy before he can do much of anything on the court for scouts.
He cant. He was a walk on. Have to be on scholarship to get the Covid year.
Im pretty sure people are looking it up as i type this lolâŠ
I think walk-ons get Covid year if they want⊠eligibility is the focus, not scholarships, no?
Lol on your edit
