Roster is already improved by a lot with healthy guys, McFarland, Jefferson, and freshmen. We were a VERY good team without them. We are deeper and more talented with them on active roster.

Reminds me of Cronin beating the hell out of Dodge once Sampson established superiority…

3 for 4 but who’s counting our one and Dunn.

That was bumped from like a a month ago

And that was a response to him saying I don’t know basketball, I never played or coached…

No where in that statement is it saying I’m some great coach

You’re good Pesik. Not sure why the poster chose to go find that baloney.

Now somewhere Give me your Top 3 TP that can be a TRUE PG for us. So I can have on record . Whether in Portal or maybe has potential to enter Portal

I never claimed to be giving sourced information and make it obvious I’m using context clues to guess… context clues constantly change… ie like a week ago sedan would have been top 3. It changes

But for today, who the context clues are pointing to is 1 person

All signs pointing to Milos uzan.

But I don’t think he was the PG that Sampson was referencing earlier.

I actually get a few DMs from people on who they are hearing we are targeting… I was being told like 4 different names from different people … despite all have diff names originally they’ve all pivoted to saying they think it’s likely uzan seperately

Most of the chips going to him

Wade Taylor, seeming more unlikely by the day…

My honest opinion is that the PG that Sampson was referencing to in that interview was dedan. UNLV is publicly celebrating him coming back, but he was never going to go pro… meaning he was ā€œsupposedā€ to go portaling but didn’t

Makes sense. Things change drastically in todays Collegiate Sports World. Maybe even CKS got caught sticking his chest out some & is having to do some rethinking on who is right fit.

Only opinion I have is that no matter the rumors of yes or no on Shead coming back… I thk Coach advises Shead to leave n go for it. Shead takes that advice as he moves on to his next Journey in Basketball. Was a Great Coog!!

You got your wish then what is there to be disappointed about?

Shead to Milo is not an improvement … they were both in the big 12… shead was POYt he other wasn’t even considered top 6 pg in the league

I agree with all of this.

The one thing this team needs next season is a PG who can create good looks for others, has good handles and can get into the paint to wreak havoc. A point guard who can also create for themselves, especially when the shot clock is about to expire. Cryer and Sharp can certainly improve in this area but last yrs team was extremely dependent on Shead providing this.

@pesik does Milos have a higher ceiling he can get to?

Could Porter Moser have gotten more out of him

Milos Dad is a basketball coach, correct? So high basketball IQ.

The point guard transfer market isn’t great.

Doesn’t some of that depend on the team, coach, system, etc? I’m not sure Shead would have been as successful if he played for OU last season. Dunn is a good example - he wasn’t able to replicate his Temple numbers playing here. Doesn’t mean he’s a bad player, just that he didn’t fit with UH the same way he did with Temple. I don’t know anything about Uzan, but I don’t think comparing him and Shead on last season’s outcome tells the full story?

I’m super excited. I also understand that if Shead comes back, we are in a pure ā€˜nothing has changed’ situation. People are going to focus on that.

Just heard from a good source that Shead is coming back as a freshman

Having Shead back would be incredible, but it isn’t happening. No PG is gonna replace him 1 for 1.

We just need someone who can be as good as or close to Deeky, with what all we have coming back.

Last 5 years have been full of guys having amazing final seasons and either leaving for the draft or running out of eligibility. We have lamented how awesome it would be to have 1 more year of Gorham, Jarreau, Harris or Nate or Armoni etc… as they had finally turned into legit big time players.

Well, this year we are getting a team full of those back. We are gonna be ranked in the top 7, will be picked in the top 3 of the conference, regardless who we or others get to transfer in.

AMAZING time to be a UH basketball fan.

@Coog1992 i get both your points

But Oklahoma was an offensive fast paced team and his offensive numbers aren’t that great, it should be inflated…the pace here will be vastly slower

I like his potential, honestly if we had 3/4 ships to give I’d be estatic I just made a post 2 days ago about wanting taller skilled guards

The issues is we only have 1 ship to give … and the roster makeup heavily defined by the PG ( we dont have a lot of guys that can create for themselves)… we are trying to win it all next year… we will have no other true pg on roster … Sampson has only so many years …

I would have liked a more proven commodity … even though I know many here don’t want to say it, they agree too
