No, the fan base will be there, the bandwagon riders don’t come to see the coach, they come to see winners. We start winning and they will return. But, the true fan base will be there, they may complain, but they will be there.
BTW, Coach Yeoman’s first 4 years gave us no reason to believe he would turn out like he did. He was 7-4, 2-8, 2-6-1, & 4-5-1. Thank God, we had an AD that had foresight.

If we keep Applewhite, and he becomes the next Yeoman, I will apologize to you personally, and with a custom made plaque of said apology. That being said, times are different and how many coaches start off like that nowadays and then turn it around? In the last 10 years I can’t find a rags to riches coaching story in D1 football like Yeoman.
Yeah I know. But, it is – and has always been – the UH situation. We are always a losing season away from complete abandonment by the bandwagon folks. Being a Coog is “hard chesse.”

To be frank, my despair is not so much with the UH coaching situation… it’s the fact that we are relegated to being the P5 coaching farm system, and where G5 teams can’t realistically compete for the national championship. This is a rich get richer, poor get poorer class system and the effects are showing.

I won’t need an apology, I’ll be ecstatic enough. And the reason you don’t see rags to riches coaches anymore is because there isn’t enough patience these days to allow a coach to develop. We seem to understand that players need a few years to develop, but don’t seem to think anyone else does.
I am not CMA’s agent or publicist. I am a Houston Cougar alumnus and diehard fan who wants the best for our team and school. I just may have developed more patience over my 72 year life span. I’m willing to give CMA another year at least to prove his merit. While he is here, I will give him my full support; hopefully he will succeed.

The Admin has to decide…a large expense and operational re-make vs. the slow bleed of revenue and collapse of ticket sales and licensed product sales.
I haven’t seen the P&L so maybe the slow bleed of Applewhite is financially preferable.
Its the intangible losses that will be most painful I think.
When Applewhite goes, hire the coach from Sam Houston, Mary Hardin Baylor or Mount Union. Coaches who win consistently on a lower level.
That 7-4 season was an improvement over the last year of the previous coach
He also won a bowl game that season.
Applewhite has done neither of those

Now we care about bowl games, lol. Most of you give up on season after we lose one game. It’s playoffs or NY6, nothing else matters. So how can we fire a coach for losing these exhibition bowl games.

If they were able to bring Littrell in here that beating today would’ve been worth it.
I like him. Better than CMA. But i dont know if he’s the answer.
