Who thought we'd be better than last year?

North Carolina has already reached out to him.

UCONN should be better, not sure about the rest. Memphis brings in a good recruiting class, but they lose a ton. Wichita State loses their top two players and will be very young. Cincy probably loses Cumberland (and possibly Cronin) along with two of their better shooters and they don’t have much talent behind those guys.

As far as others, UCF loses Taylor and Fall and will have to rely heavily on Dawkins. Temple loses Austin, but if Rose and Pierre-Louis return, they should still be pretty good. USF will be better as they don’t lose anyone. Tulsa will probably still be Tulsa under Frank Haith. ECU is booting just about everybody and rebuilding. Tulane will take time. SMU will continue their downward trajectory, especially if Whitt leaves.

Honestly, I think the conference won’t be as good next year and we should be the overwhelming favorite.

cumberland isnt on any draft board , 95% chance he is coming…he might declare to receive input tho

Wichita losses its top 2 scorers, but were playing 7 freshmen and are currently in the NIT elite8, they are actually a very good defensive team, their seniors have nothing to do with that…and who they thought would be their best player preseason didnt play, teddy allen (because he didnt get a waiver)//with a top 30 recruiting class that isnt finished

memphis has 4 elite recruits as is…and still top 2 for 2 other top 100, top 4 for a top 10, and a 2020 recruit top 10 is hinting he wants to reclassify (was a memphis favorite for 2020, not sure in 2019)

temple has a 20pt per 6’5 G transfer sitting out, usf has a top 100 recruit transfer sitting out and losses no one …ecu is clearing freshmen he recruited to go after a ton of top juco

dawkins coming back isnt guaranteed, he will be 25 if he comes back, he has to declare this year and see if he gains traction, no one is drafting a 25yr old… but bj taylor hasnt played great in weeks, if dawkins comes back, and they have 2 4star transfer bigs sitting out…they’ll take a hit but not as big as some think

if we are as good as this season, the league will be stronger… i dont even think it will be close

Fair enough. I’m not as high on it, but there is potential there.

I don’t think we are better or worse this year, though we had a better regular season. We lost to Michigan on a prayer last year, and they went to the Final Four. This year we faced a couple easier opponents in the tourney. Let’s see what we do Friday and I’ll revisit my opinion.

No question we are better this year. Defense added a lot of weapons and more depth scoring.

As.for the conference teams will need to stepu p.
With Cumberland gone Cinci may have a big step back
UCF may have a big step back
WSU is well coached but lose their top player.
Memphis has a good class coming in so maybe.
Need to hope USF brings in another good class and keeps improving.
Not sure on UCONN without J. Adams.

Maybe 4 or maybe 2 or if Cinci steps back maybe even 1.
We’ll see

5 bid league next year:

Temple
UH
WSU
Memphis
Cincy
