This is alarming to me. UCF is killing it. What are they doing differently than us?
UCF is setting itself up for success. That alone should have Fertitta demanding answers.
Nothing points out that our portal recruiting will be any different. You deserve the rewards of the work that you put in.

It’s not that their stadium is full. Although that helps.
What they have done is put a concerted effort in recruiting high school talent and developing them.
Dana has told us from the beginning that if you want to get “good” quick, you need to get older and to get older, you have to hit the transfer portal.
WV fans have warned us about his recruiting and how he never developed a high school qb.
The problem with Dana is that he is not a culture setter. Sampson is a culture setter and it transforms a program. Dana is a great OC masking as a CEO coach, but he’s not a culture setter.

Herman of 2015-2016 woulda had multiple 4 stars committed, heck he had that when we were in the AAC.
With the right coach, and that includes one that isn’t a lame duck HC, we can and WILL have much better recruiting

Gus Malzahn has a decorated resume that can only be touched by a handful of coaches! Period!
Guy was/is a closer in the home recruiting process. SEC west tittles and Sec Champs!

Comparing Dana to Gus is just folly!
Dana has done nothing but barely .500 ball everywhere he has been and he hood winked our administration into thinking he’d provide continuity when it wasn’t even continuity we were looking for!!!
We had a proven formula that now others have stole and flourished with post 2017 Houston cougars!
The more I think about it , we’ll never out recruit UCF as long as Gus malzahn is there!!

Their QB came from Ole Miss and their RB came from Auburn. I counted 44 transfers on their roster, including Jucos.

Their transfers come from the SEC. Ours come from lower levels and Texas Tech.

Yes, of course.
But UCF has also put a concerted effort in high school recruiting. They’re not neglecting that part of recruiting like we are.

I also get the feeling that DH thinks once we have the football ops building then all of our recruiting woes will be gone.

He has been unable to bring enough portal talents to make us GOOD QUICK. That is a fact.
Remember friends that we have 17 to 19 seniors. That is an enormous amount of players to replace.
UCF has been trending up since their slow BIG12 start. I can only imagine how much they will get better. Do I feel the same way about our squad? I would like to think so but so far I do not see it.

We’re neglecting high school recruiting and not developing relationships with local high school coaches.

Florida is like Texas with great prospects.

Check their other prospects and you will see a high emphasis on Florida and Georgia.
Ol’ Judas would have had multiple 4-stars and possibly more with UH now in a P5. Our recruiting is dismal at present…look to the top and there is your answer

I’m not sure if CDH really thinks that or if it is just the next convenient excuse. Either way it is just kicking the can down the road on why we aren’t successful NOW. Its like a drug addict saying that tomorrow they will quit and today is their last dose - promise! Loser mentality pure and simple.

Dana isn’t good at recruiting like WVU fans warned UH fans about & I think he is even more checked out or burnt out then he ever was so he cares even less
