Why add a men’s sport when baseball is in the shape it is?
To help make us forget about how bad they are?
Would it?
“I think it moved, Jerry!” - George Costanza
Looking at the D1 championships by conference, the Big12 has a total of 3 women’s titles. Damn. Other conference have way way more than that. What’s going on, we don’t take Title IX very seriously.
Not sure the validity of that chart or if it is using all sports.
BU has 3 womens basketball titles (Did not check any other sports of theirs)
TCU has 4 rifle titles (womens team)
WVU has 19 rifle titles (I think theirs is coed team, though majority of those are before 2000)
Would be surprised if OSU did not have a womens title in something.
Did not include equestrian as I do not think it is NCAA sponsored, but that would add for OSU
Do the PAC numbers include any titles from Stanford’s varsity Synchronized Swimming team?
That list is not accurate. Oklahoma has 4 women’s softball championships at least. Just because the team moves, the championships stay with the conference.
So who gets to claim our golf championships? The SWC?
Some were as an Independent
This is all moot. $$$$$$ Anywho, just go to the Hub for all your needs. lol
How do we pay for these?
Can we hire Kurt Angle as the wrestling coach?
He won a gold medal with broken neck in the 1996 Olympics.
Plus we all would love to chant “You Suck!”
We currently have all the sports that we can financially handle. No need to add any more.
We don’t need to add any more money losing sports until we can adequately fund our programs and pour the remainder into the NIL fund.
A lot of futbol fans in Houston, missed opportunity $$$, but it seems that UH is good at that lol
Lots of football fans too and we can’t even fill that out, but miraculously we’ll start selling out a soccer program?
Title 9 makes this all moot but it’s fun to speculate. lol
Not with that attitude, times are changing, a lot of talent and potential fans in the Houston area, this is an international city with plenty of entrepreneur $$$ for NIL, white boomer football fans from the suburbs don’t like going to UH games, otherwise we would sell out TDECU lol
