yes… What other P5 Texas schools were flirting with a change last season?

If it was Texas A&M, Traylor was an idiot which makes me think it was UH

Some thoughts on your list:
I would probably remove the dead people as the smell might get to be a bit much if they are recently dead.

Fictional characters would be really cool especially if we get the media people to pay for inserting them into the live feeds. The animation expenses might add up after awhile.

As for coordinators, I would focus on major programs that UH wants to be like. A program like Georgia is run differently than a mid level than a mid level Big 12 or ACC school, and very very different from an AAC or MWC school. Especially the number of people involved behinds the scenes…

That’s why Sumlin succeeded. He built his staff like a mini-OU. He understood that the coach is the figurehead. Its the staff that grinds out wins.

“Experience and stability”…sounds like Patterson possibly Fritz. It’s Fritz they going to have to wait till after New Year possibly to announce due to conference and bowl game.

Fritz is the guy, more and more, in my opinion…

Why would Prime come here? He can recruit Houston right where he is. And he doesn’t need money.

I like Prime. But if he wants to come here after just one season at CU that’s enough to sour me on him

If prime would leave Boulder after a year, he’d leave here after a year. It’d be a year of great marketing, but not sustained growth.

On one hand, it’s not what i want to see. On the other hand, the 2 years Tom Herman were here were better than 10 years of the others.

STOP! STOP! Prime is not coming here let’s all take a deep breath… now exhale and say FUBAR.

Now is not the time to experiment with another hot OC. It might be exciting, but there are a lot of unanswered questions. Can he recruit and effectively use the transfer portal? Can he help build NIL to attract and retain talent? Does he have enough contacts to build a quality staff? We need a program builder. We havent had one on Cullen for many years. That means we need a seasoned HC with a solid resume. That puts us back to Fritz or Patterson.

I don’t know why people have such a hard on for Jerry Patterson. His last few years at TCU were terrible, and his style got old.

Plus, Patterson has not been around since the NIL period began. A lot of older coaches don’t want to deal with NIL, transfer portal and the related stuff. If so, then we have no use for him, period. It will just be a gigantic waste of money, which we don’t have.

As for Traylor, sorry but hard pass. I don’t view him as having the skill and cultural conditioning required to be successful at UH. Sorry. He was an HC at one school with one QB. When that QB was out he did not look good. Honestly, he is a lot more like CDH than we want to admit (although I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he is not a heavy drinker).

UH has always done best when we have hired up and coming Coordinators, especially OCs. Yeoman, Briles, Sumlin, Herman. Pardee was the exception that proves the rule, but he had Jenkins at least.

Also, FYI - Lebby to Miss State. I assume Briles will follow him down there in some capacity.

Jerry Patterson used to be Texas Land Commissioner.
