There’s a possibility we begin the season ranked coming off a bowl win at 10-3, a top 10 transfer portal ranking, a very solid recruiting class, a returning veteran QB…
This has to be the year where the fans come out no excuses

No. Our home schedule isn’t going to move the needle. In fact, the home schedule sucks.
Yes
It’s definitely one the worst schedules we’ve had in some time I’ll give you that
Interesting, looks like the early O/U for UH is 7.5.
Maybe if we are undefeated late in the season we’ll see some big crowds.
But to be honest, our home schedule won’t excite many casual fans.
Attendance topic to begin May. Football season is here, baby!
Someone had to do it
As painful as it sounds, UH’s average home attendance is boosted by the opponent bringing their fans. I will take a wild axx guess at the opponent’s support:
Oregon St. - Minimal. Probably less than 1,000.
Southern - Better than Oregon St. Maybe 2,000?
UCF - At this point in the schedule, each team’s record plays a role in attendance. Maybe 1,000?
Oklahoma St. - 3,000.
Cincinnati - 1,000.
Baylor - 3,000.
Not a great home schedule. The wild cards are if UH goes on a winning streak or if Keisean Henderson is forced to play and the City of Houston gets Keisean-mania. I think Keisean Henderson will be box office.
Our worse games will have better attendance but our best games will be worse.

I used a baseline of last season’s average without the Tech game, Baylor has drawn well in the past but with their coaching situation, I don’t know what is going to happen, OSU with new life should bring some fans, but over all there is nothing exciting about this years home opponents. Of course if we get overloaded with 11am games, all bets are off.
I remember when we played Ok State in Robertson in 2006. I bought tickets game day and sat around ~50 yard on the visitor side.
There was a loud, drunk and fat Ok State fan yelling over and over before the game that Houston was going to see and was not ready for “big boy” football, that Houston players are tiny, that Houston players are small. On and on and into the first quarter, the guy would not relent.
Then…
Jackie Battle ran all over OK State and we won 34-25. So much for “big boy” football.
2027 should be a good home schedule. TT and LSU (will be included in season tickets I was told). Arizona State, BYU, Colorado.
This schedule will get t shirt fans excited.
I’ve got few seasons left at my age. I had season tickets beginning in 1963. My first UH game in the Astrodome was in 1965. We lost that opener to Tulsa and drew 37 k. Hard to believe today we have hard time beating that attendance. .
The LSU game is at Reliant Stadium. I would love to believe this will be included in season tickets, but this is one of those opening weekend games put on by some company.
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve played WashState and BYU at Reliant over the last 12-15 years, and I believe the tickets were part of the season-ticket package. Maybe even that Oklahoma game in 2016.
Moderate uptick. No massive crowds unless we are ranked high towards the end of the year. No poor crowds though. Still baffles me that people think we will ever need a stadium bigger than 40K.
Washington St. was coached by Mike Leach. It was at NRG, I believe it was the Kickoff Bowl, or whatever the name was. I can’t remember if it was part of the season ticket package.
That picture in my profile is from the WSU game pre-game event from the H-Association pre-game tailgate. The 2 on the left in that pic are UH Letterwinners. I seriously doubt the dude on the left would have bought an “add-on” ticket for that WSU game. I probably wouldn’t have either at the time. If they want me at the LSU game, they’ll include it as part of my season ticket package.
Hate playing in that sterile soulless mausoleum
Schedule is truly weak so hopefully we don’t lose three games at home like last year.
I am not looking for any crowds at home over 30k unless we pull off a miracle in Lubbock.
