Willie’s doing great, but IMO, the only two statue worthy icons that don’t have them yet, but should one day on the UH campus are Coach Sampson & Renu Khator.

The big takeaway from the article is consistent winning which will be huge like BY yrs even though I wasn’t here to witness that era. This will help attendance to grow then the sky is the limit in a 24 team playoff.
We can now reasonably keep good coaches and progress. We now have 2 solid coaches in the major sports which is like when Guy L and BY we’re here . I saw the final 4 in New Orleans when I was young over there and my friend who somehow got us tickets , said “those are the Houston cougars , phi slamma jama. Great times are in the mists of us. Willie is making millionaire money so he’s good. I don’t think necessarily more money motivates him but he simply wants more success here.

If you offered Fritz a bump I think he understands (given our financial constraints) the money needs to go to his coaches and the players.
Willie will turn 67 before next season . Kelvin just turned 71 before this season. BOTH are on lifetime contracts😂

There are two things that many Coog fans suffer from:
- An insatiable desire for national relevance
- An insufferable fear of rejection
And both are real reflections of our past challenges. But in this case seeing our admin offer up something like this would not bother me one bit. High quality is hard to come by. Rare even. Willie is high quality.

Agree now is not the time, but A$M has done some pretty dumb stuff, like still paying Jimbo, and probably Sumlin, while they could buy out Elko and still offer Fritz $12 million/year. It could happen, would Willie do it, I don’t know. I think he likes UH, but the struggles with fans is a real downer that does not happen at A$M. Even with a great game with two ranked, 4-1 teams at night, Mattress Mack had to buy 1200 tickets.
