This exactly my thinking TF needs to step aside. On this one, let Pez do his job, considering he screwed up the last one I
I wonder if Saban and Tilman would get along.
Exactly
I want Gary Patterson to walk into Pezâs office, put his boots on his desk and say,
I concur.
NO WAY a Hall of Fame HC takes a demotion to DC.
True but the HC is telling the alums who to get.
The best way to âconnect with the fan baseâ is to win football games. Assholes become great guys and great guys become assholes based on wins and losses.
Officially you are correct, but you would have to be naive to think the coaching staff doesnât know what the NIL money is and have some significant input on how much is needed.
One thing Iâve learned over the years is that itâs sometimes better to have an a-hole or jerk that knows his job and does it well, than a nice person that doesnât.
Ideally, you can find someone who both knows his job and does it well, AND is a nice person.
But I can often excuse not having the latter as long as the person is the former.
You better just know that no matter how much is in the NIL fund itâs not enough. Itâs never enough.
I am sure but NIL is just the under the table coming above the table. Other than a few star players, no business benefits from having the NIL of an college offensive lineman.
It is just payola.
The coaches know what they need.
Hiring from UTSA is like hiring from a high school?
Just stop.
With statements like that you lose any kind of credibility.
You are telling EasternCoast he doesnât know what he is talking about and then you drop crap like thatâŠ.sorry but that is complete garbage.
You have absolutely zero clue as to what UTSA football is or is not.
Its true that fans are more tolerable with coaches who are nice but that only goes so far. Fans want wins, and they want them now.

NO WAY a Hall of Fame HC takes a demotion to DC.
Hall of Fame?
Did I miss something? How many MULTIPLE national Championships did he win?
How many P5 Conference Championships?
How many Playoff Appearances?
I we are letting GP into the HoF, the bar has gotten very low.
Hall of GoodâŠIâll agree with that.
I think Patterson is probably the best guy when you consider everything. Even if he was let go heâs seen UTs operation up close and was a big reason for their turnaround & maybe he has learned some new things, itâs not like heâs jumping back right away into coaching again. Thereâs no buyout to get him, he probably costs the least salary wise, and you can invest some of that money into assistants & NIL.
Except on field results. The game passed him up, thereâs a reason he got ran off from TCU.
He was there for 20 years eventually it comes to an end. Even Saban wasnât in one spot for that long. Sometimes a change in scenery is needed. Even Sampson credits going to the NBA in changing how he did things.

You have absolutely zero clue as to what UTSA football is or is not.
I know they have no facilities and no financial ability to do anything that resembles major college football in terms of staffing, organizational structure, operations and most importantly having to manage and deal with any level of expectations. I guarantee you the Southlake Carroll head football coach has more pressure on him than the UTSA head football coach. You can argue resources and total budget, but go your both places and let me know which place feel more legitâŠ
Apparently you DID miss something.

Would make a great DC for Traylor.
Homerun hire if Traylor can bring him on.
Maybe the two of them working together can get him a National Championship.
