100% agree
Player that forced most turnovers prior week drives it out.
Here’s one with top down.
They used to play that at baseball games back in my day.
We brought that back at the end of the 2018-2019 season, and continued it into 19-20. It will be back this season, we have newspapers that are imitation. I will post a picture later!
AYYY! Must be the money!
They are the oldest spirit organization on campus. Leave them alone. They don’t have any racial ties to it. And if they aren’t an organization anymore, they are now part of SOH or a Fraternity? One of the two.
They do need some songs. One of the CV3 members is in marketing. They can probably help, and is looking for gameday ideas.
There is a trombone/tuba version of that, now played at games. Very rarely, but Kubos told me they are playing tomorrow.
This is a song I was thinking about. Ohio has “I wanna go back to Ohio” and it’s drinking-song equse.
Thought I saw that last game @Frontiersman17. Let me know if you need any help from the Coogs of CV3 org. We to the left of the band.
That would be ridiculous. Literally any highlight UH video after a big win has the Blaze BLASTING. It kind of keeps or old 'non-P5’ish feel, post the SWC demise (although it came during the final years).
This would help, but we should incorporate a chant before it. ANOTHER HOUSTON COUGAR “FIRST DOWN!”
Hey that’s The Coogs of CV3!
They even made their own music video. VT does this too, they have ‘horse on a treadmill!’
Actually, they do this at UH basketball games. Pretty interesting.
Yet they have that part of the lyrics on loop and nobody sings it.
There are some very ethnic/race specific ones. I don’t fit in their categories, yet they still invited me to come rush. I can agree with this.
It has not been done for a WHILE. I saw a video of that at the Tulsa game from so many years ago.
I don’t know why they added an extra drum break. Takes up time and we just wanna spell COUGARS.
Welcome to the Jungle should be the song of our intro video. Jump like that as VT does to Enter Sandman and we are set.
Bleacher creatures! They’re actually expanding away from being honors only. Competition with CV3, hehe.
CV3 tries to make traditions, UH just doesn’t like really adopting them so much? We keep carrying on YWCF. That was definitely organic, and hilarious because it was a rant on parking + a football war cry. People were shouting it in the student center all week that week. SGA bought people ice cream for shouting it in Shastas. We (Coogs of CV3) made our flags and shirts. UH threatened to sue me for making those shirts, then made their own.
This year, when I made that 75th anniversary train video, and gave it to athletics (might be played at a game now!) they asked me to remove YWCF. RIP.
Then again though, at the Grambling game, we had our flag and Shasta took it and took a video. So it’s still there.
Traditions are fun to make, we just gotta get others in on it. British Football Chants. Painting the Statue of Four Lies (hope to do that again this year).
Remember “THIS IS OUR HOUSE THIS IS OUR CITY YOU ARE NOW IN THE CAGE?” Great concept, bad chant pregame. Instead of “HOUSTON!” “COUGARS!”. That was intimidating. But that line? Bashed away after two games. I am making my own version of a UH intro video and sort of including that.
Yup. Or bad ‘marketing’ stuff.
That chant that I was talking about above was led by Carl Lewis the first time. I think Sylvester Turner the second, or a random student. I forget.
Partly becuase…or maybe even mostly because…this works at Oregon so well is that the campus of Oregon is where Animal House was filmed, and they are quite proud of that fact.
Maybe we can find something from Terms of Endearment…
I respectfully disagree. It’s a nice reminder to everyone that we are Texans. That can get lost in all of the urbanization.
Pardon my ignorance, what is CV3?
Oh I really like that red cadillac/slab car idea. Also, a song we can all sing together would be nice. Get Lizzo and Beyonce together on a collab with Paul Wall and his crew. I’m sure they could make a new banger that can last.
Anybody remember the guy in the flag line? He was very spirited…… when the band played The Horse he really got into it!
We loved doing that back in '70’s. I’ll admit that we added a few choice names for some of the bad guys. Good Times! EATEMUP!!
The Coogs of CV3 is a spirit organization! I created it in 2018 when I transferred into UH. There are about 300 members now.
the budweiser song, played by roaming band members throughout the stadium in the third quarter
They play that sometimes towards the end of the game. BudBones
We don’t need a new song. Remember the slowed-down version of the fight song from that Slim Thug remix in 2011? Just have the band play that.
Thanks. What does CV3 stand for?
I here Clay Walker has a song about football and Houston. Ha
Yeah, I always hated that one.
The red caddy is the way to go. With the bull horns.
And if we can’t find bull horns to mount, I know of a particular bull way west-northwest of Houston that we could go “borrow” them from. (Go away PETA…this is for something important!)
Saw’d em off
Lol
