They run two wholly different variations of the option. Tulane runs more of a spread option look – they’re more like New Mexico or Nevada’s Pistol offenses than Navy’s Flexbone.

The way Navy’s playing in this game is making me wonder if the consensus on Applewhite is right. Like, we know Niumatalolo is a great coach, but his QB is playing badly and his defense isn’t executing. They may win despite that, but that doesn’t mean they’re playing well. If Navy can play badly despite being well-coached, how do we know that’s not true of the Coogs?

Roy got hit pretty good and no flag? At least should have been 5 yards and a new punt

Edit: replay showed it should have been 15 yards and we get the first down.

Roy has been solid all year to this point, so I’m reluctant to put this on the coaching. Weird stuff happens sometimes.
