He can remain with the Texans and coach unofficially.
Next year, he can start the season as a coach…or take some time off if that’s what he wants to do

Almost $52 Mil in career earnings, whether or not those are actual dollars, Case has had one hell of a career. He silenced all the doubters that said he couldn’t play in the NFL. This season he can get paid a couple mil to watch Football from the sidelines…sign me up for that gig. Sounds like they’re grooming him to be their next QB Coach. Makes sense if things goes as planned, Slowik moves on, Jerrod Johnson becomes OC and there’s Keenum to coach QBs. He can afford to do nothing if he wants.

Case might just be reading some of this and getting a good belly laugh. Maybe the thought that “those coogs and all the others still think I’m that interested in football”. Then he gets busy getting things in order on his big ranch complete with cattle, horses, a few dogs, wife, kid, and beautiful views of Texas mornings and sunsets–and all this every day with no ice baths, tape, scrapes, etc.etc. -and no pressure to do anything. “Poor old Case, he’s out of football”.

Case has always been one of my favorites. Not just for what he’s done on the field, but what he is off it. He’s a quality person and good role model. Not many could overcome the obstacles he’s had to.

I’ll never forget him staying in the alumni center on fan appreciation day until every single person in his line got their autograph/picture taken with him. Every single one. The King of the Cougars for me.

Saw Demeco Ryans on one of the 6:00 PM sports broadcasts and he said he hoped Keenum would still come around while rehabbing and help coach the QBs.
With all the good will and equity Case has built in his NFL career, he has an NFL job if he wants it.

It doesn’t surprise me. He’s a classy guy and so unassuming. I’ve always admired him for that.

Sea a ling time since i heard the title, “Player Coach” but it was not uncommon in rhe distanr past
I believe it’s up to the team. Given what we know about Case, he’ll most likely remain as involved as he possibly can in at least a mentor/coaching roll. So, I would venture to guess the Texans would give him one and it would be well deserved.
If the Texans have a Public Relations Department, Case will get a Championship Ring.

Yes, he is going to be a very important part of the 2024 Houston Texans team, and their success, just not on the field.
CJ mentioned it many times, last season, how Case took him under his wing and helped coach him into becoming an NFL quarterback.
Hopefully, Case uses this year to learn howto be an Offensive Coordinator.
