Have we had any international students play basketball for us recently? I can think of some football examples, but the last one I remember for basketball is Hakeem.

Bert Nkali comes closest and was here just a couple of years ago. He’s from Cameroon and played one year of high school/2 JUCO seasons.
Otherwise, I think you have to go back to Sergio de Randamie under Penders in the mid-2000’s.
Chicken sort of counts, but he’s been in the US awhile before starting here. Same could be said of Valentine Sangoyomi.
Foster seem to have a pipeline to South American players …and some good ones at that !

Another blue chip leaving the state in HS. This definitely hurts UH not having him local.
with 2 years to play, this might just have killed the griggs to houston movement …there hasnt been a multiyear touted houston player to stay in the state the few seasons
