Agree on the good losses. I don’t know when the rankings come out, but I assume new rankings have come out since the Coogs lost two matches to ranked Kansas last week. I think we either stayed put or dropped one spot to #21. Coogs were competitive against Kansas.
Nice win tonight against West Virginia. My wife and I met several of the players at U of H’s last home football game, she said it was the first time in her life she ever felt short. My wife is just under 6 feet tall. Very nice young ladies, looking forward to many more wins.
Wish I was in town next weekend, would love to make the series again Texas. Our fans have to show up to support the team. There can’t be more orange than red in Fertita. Our girls deserve more.
Well done. Thanks for the news. Sunday’s High Noon showdown is on ESPN, the flagship station. Not the U or the + or the deuce, or even ESPN Pickleball. It will be the marquee game in the world of volleyball. Hope the team gets a huge turnout that the volleyballers deserve.
Not to mention how good for the volleyball program in specific and UH athletics generally this national showcase can be.
A glimpse of the UH squad beginning to put it together. After getting down 15 - 13, Coogs totally dominate 2nd set to tie match at a set apiece. 25 - 17 UH in 2nd.
Coogs let set 3 slip away and Horns take 4th and the Saturday match. High noon on the morrow for national showcase.
NCAA RPI’s have been out for about a month now. Despite the two losses to #4 ut-austin, the Coogs moved up a spot to #46. #88 tx tech is up next. They really need to win both matches to avoid losing ground.
Coogs win set 1 25 - 12 in Lubbock. Set 2 tied at 20. Coogs up 2 - 0 in sets, although set 2 much more competitive: 25 - 23. First Big 12 road win in the books. Third set to Coogs, 25 - 11.
The ladies took care of business. Absolutely dominated Lubbock. Would love to watch Saturday, except I will be at TDECU to watch us take care of business there. Volleyball is definitely making us proud.
Ready for the next home game.
Go Coogs.
Climbed 9 spots to #37 in the RPI’s with the 2 wins at Lubbock. #140 Cincinnati is up next. I hate having to play weak teams. Even if you win it could hurt a little and if you lose it hurts a lot. Good thing they’re one of the teams we only play one match against.
