2024 Big 12 Recruiting Rankings UPDATE 2/8/24 Raised to #47 (Added Transfer Rank)

Oof, good catch. Somehow I had Crawford grouped with the Tulane guys.

So yes you’re correct with hs commits:

5 carryovers
2 Tulane flips
5 new recruits

At the debut press conference CWF said that we’d see an uptick in hs recruiting based on what we were doing under the last guy, but I’m not sure what ratio he has in mind.

Your a superstar. Thanks for providing these.

Am I missing something? I still see us at 71 and 22 in transfer on 24/7…

#51 is overall which I think somehow combines those two.

Idk if that includes Mekhi yet. That should break us inton the top 20 transfers and top 50 overall.

I believe 247 finally has all of our transfers graded. Class is up to #49. Puts us at 7/16 in the new Big 12.

That’s really good considering we only won four games and had a coaching change.

No reason why we can’t have a top 20- 25 recruiting class next season now that we have a coach that is actually trying.

Agree and I expect it.

C’mon now, I can see a truly “great” class at UH being rated somewhere in the top 35-40 range unless & until UH is able to fund a highly competitive NIL program and has won 10+ games in the Big 12.

Truthfully with UT & OU leaving, a top 20-25 class is not likely for anyone in the new Big 12 next year, or anytime soon, unless maybe Colorado or Utah can really step it up.

Except that Texas Tech already has a Top 25 class THIS year, even though those recruits won’t be playing in a conference with UT or OU.

So much for that theory!

So Texas Tech with a 25 year head start (over UH) in the Big 12 (with an extra $500 million for athletics funding) and a far superior NIL program (compared to UH) is still barely clinging to the #25 spot this year.

And so it remains to be seen what happens to them in the post UT & OU world. And it will take several more years for UH to try to close our huge athletics funding gap. Our first full distribution of media rights is still 2 years away and our athletic ticket sales revenues lags far behind schools like Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

There will be Big 12 teams in the recruiting Top 25.

Stop being such a P2-o-phile. The P2 ain’t all that.

I say that as a P2 alum (Illinois).

Hell, top 40 class consistently will make us a Big 12 contender every year. A top 25 for consecutive years will make us a Playoff contender.

…but the National Championship winners consistently have a Top 5 recruiting class.

If our end goal isn’t to build a program to one day win a National Championship, we are wasting everyone’s time and money

35-40 will be normal with Fritz. A truly special class would be a T-25 class.

Then we’ve been wasting our time since the 1940s.

Anyway, I looked at the previous four Washington Husky recruiting classes.

They were 15, 18, 26, and 59.

They still played for a Natty.

So no.

Top Five is NOT necessary to contend.

By contrast, aTm signed the best class in the history of recruiting classes.

Didn’t work out so well.

Houston is not Lubbock….this isn’t SimCity.
