UH will not get good players from high school or the portal. They know he is apt to get fired.

yes, I would trade with Rice because one of the problems CDH cries about OVER and OVER again is depth.
Rice was able to convince 12 high school kids to commit. We were only able to convince 8. As far as the ratingā¦they are not that far off.
Rice has 12 commits that are virtually the same rating. Where are we getting those other 4 to keep pace with the Riceās of the world? The portalā¦last minute commits that may be lower?
It floors me that we FINALLY entered the Big 12, as a P5 school, IN the City of Houstonā¦and only EIGHT 1,2,3,45,6,7,8 high school players think CDH and our program is worth committing to.

12 virtually equal recruits feel that G5 Rice, int a depleted AAC, is a better place to PLAY football!
Again, comparing us to Rice is a VERY LOW BAR yet we are LOOKING UP to Rice right nowā¦Unacceptable

82.5 is far worse than 85.4. The other four they have average 76.7, all solid 2-stars. Okay.
So you wouldnāt hire the UTSA coach, right?

No, I would not trade with Rice, but UH has to have success in the portal.

Maybe Dana saw all these HC firings coming and has been positioning himself to be the portal king. There ought to be a lot of unhappy players in motion.
Lots of talent might want to come home. He could transition this team overnight. Is this his brilliant plan? Weāll probably never know since he too will likely be fired.
This was before NIL, transfer portal & 12 team playoff became a thing 
P5 is just a title at this point

Every year coaches get fired and players enter the portal like crazy. Yet Dana hasnāt capitalized what makes u think he will next year?
Dana wonāt be the only one getting players from the portal. He still has to go against other power5 schools. You bet others are keeping an eye on the portal with the firings. The difference is others are better than Dana in getting those players.
Weāll get the 2nd team or 3rd team players transferring from power 5.

Most disgruntled players entering the portal expect to hit the NIL lottery ticket, until they donāt. Then they hold out until Spring. Unless it is a special player, UH does not have the luxury to wait until Spring. UH needs to capitalize in the Dec-Jan portal period.
Iām just trying to be optimistic here, but I realize Iām not being too realistic.

If CDHās strategy is to wait on the portal, it better be because he knows we have a bunch of NIL money to spend

I think you may be right. Somethings up here. Thereās big things happening behind the scenes. Just look at the Memorial Hermann Football Operations Facility thatās coming. Can you even imagine that as a remote possibility 10 yrs ago?
There are indeed big things coming soon like the Ops Building and the naming of the new UH Football HCā¦better days are on the horizonā¦canāt keep us down for longā¦the Big Cat gonna eat !
