That is their estimated value of each player, not what they are bringing in. Those numbers are pretty inflated. Guys would need a team of people working full time to reach those numbers.

With only 8 commits, it’s as though CDH is planning to sabotage the recruiting cycle, if fired. Think about it. If he’s let go, most of the 8 recruits will de-commit leaving a new coach with almost no recruits. This is why UH shouldn’t wait too long if they’re planning to let him go.

Hopefully after this weekend we’ll get a better sense of what the administration plans to do. A loss to OSU means CDH will have a losing season and won’t be bowl eligible.

Don’t worry we will get our share of transfer portal guys that were 4 stars in high school and are now assessed as 3 stars in the transfer portal. They will come from some kewl names though like ATM, OU, UT, LSU, etc… so CDH can talk about what a great get these cats are.

Unless he’s getting proven starters in the portal like Haulcy Hamilton Fleming Ugwoegbu types the portal is filled with fools gold. Those P5 backups largely can’t play

And they very well might be if he can get them to gel and play as a cohesive unit. Big OL, for example, will play immediately, be in a P5 conference, and be on TV every week. That ought to get big interest. Seems like a gamble, but remember Tilman is one of the biggest gamblers around.

well…whatever recruiting strategy Rice was doing to build their squad was good enough to beat the University of Houston

It was largely their transfer portal QB carving us apart in the first half. Their top WR in that game was also a transfer. Rice is also 2-4 in the American and we went 13-3 in a better version of that conference the last two years and beat a 6-0 American team this year.

Dana should and likely will be let go, but if he’s not our incoming talent pool will be better than Rice’s. I would not at all trade our class for the Rice class right now.

What class? All 7 or 8 of them? That’s not a class, that’s a failure.

You get off your a$$ and recruit freshman to build your base….you develop them and build your depth….the portal is to cherry pick kids for specific positions your team has needs in….it’s not to sit around and try and bring in 20 guys from the portal……
You sure as hell don’t build a true culture like that fellas.

plus…you create a culture where nobody is excited about committing TO the University of Houston…it no longer becomes a selection the kid was excited to make…to share with friends and family.

Instead you get castaways who are 1) bad team members 2) not talented enough to start or 3) looking for NIL $$

I disagree 100% with the Talking Heads that say UH should take all of the Houston area transfers that are home sick.

Make COMMITTING to the University of Houston an EVENT.

Make UH the Houston Area All- Stars plus select help from kids from outside the area. transfers that REALLY REALLY REALLY want to be here and contribute.

Set a goal that OUR Mission is to bring a Championship TO Houston WITH 75% Houston area talent. UH= Houston Area All Stars. Win a Championship for Houston…Not Austin…Not College Station…Not Baton Rouge…Not Norman…Not Lubbock…etc.

Get the Casual non-UH Houstonians involved…Do IT!

We have 18 Seniors on the roster. Not here in 2024.

Assume a few more depart. Let’s make it 25 gone.

With 8 High School recruits we are short 17 to fill out the 2024 roster.

Our final rankings will be driven by those 17 transfers. And we know that A$M and Baylor might have some for us. Maybe even always-loaded UT.

Not predicting it but is humanly possible that Dana could have a solid group for 2024. Possible.

Might as well let eh new coach get players through the portal for 2024 and then start to come up with a high school recruiting strategy for his first full class.

Set the culture in year one and then recruit for that culture.
