2025-26 CFP & Bowl Games Thread

You can still practice.

If our concern is having g5’s or lower ranked champs in the playoffs then we reduce the ncaa tourney to 32 teams.

We’ve created a playoff system that doesn’t reward the best 12 teams. BYU and Notre Dame have plenty of reason to be upset when they see JMU and Tulane in and they arent.

I would argue that the CFP isn’t necessarily the “12 best teams” but more so the 12 teams that satisfied the necessary parameters to get into the post-season playoff.

If it were truly the 12 best teams, them it would only consist of SEC/B1G + ND

Parameters need tweaking

Not really. I think what they have is fine. However, I do believe that expansions needs to happen.

All P4 conference championship losers have a much better chance of getting into the CFP if they expand to 16.

Here is a quick Sports Illustrated take on the cfp with a 16 and a 24 teams format.

At 16 the BIG12 gets screwed. With 24 teams that is an entire different discussion.

Your tune would change if it was getting left out at 10-2 or 11-1 while a DEI pick like JMU makes it in.

Don’t blame JMU.

JMU did its job, and they are in the CFP because they had a phenomenal season.

Blame the ACC. Their conference champion lost 5 games.

The CFP was set up in assumption that all P4 champions would be in.

CFP and AP rankings are two different things. CFP came down to two good teams and they went off head to head not rankings. Two G5’s reminds me of when UCF went 12-0 and got left out, but then there was just 4 teams. I will watch the G5 games and even pull for an upset or two.

I see OU is a 1.5 point favorite against Alabama. I’m tempted to find a new online gambling site (after years of not partaking). I don’t think OU has any chance of winning that game.

Just as a reminder NO ONE should be rooting for Texas Tec or Texas M&A. Don’t care if Tec is from the the BIG12.

I always pull for our conference mates in the playoff

This has the early signs of a low scoring game.

Alabama’s offense is all sorts of discombobulated

CFP is just about the views. Alabama shouldn’t be there
