I tried to summarize what I learned of the situation reading what Jo has posted here. Maybe Jo or somebody else can further clarify if they know anything.

From my outside-looking-in POV: it feels like Koa knows this is where has the best chance to develop, but he wants to make sure he plays and isn’t forgotten by the NBA scouts.

Tbh i think i’d rather have a transfer than koa

Okay

tbh I think CKS will choose who and what he thinks is best for the :basketball: program…and that’s all that really matters to me. :slightly_smiling_face:

Wish pesik was here to sort this all out. Where’s that guy with the pesik bat signal?

Yes, he would have signed early to play for Houston.

We would have taken Peat’s commitment at any time. This wasn’t a one or the other type of thing.

Sampson didn’t push off a commitment from Koa. And we will still take it whenever Koa is ready.

Koa backed off because of the news that Cenac was aiming for Houston the Monday after his LSU visit. And it spooked him.

Like I told you guys that Monday. Cenac still wanted Houston. And he almost had mom on board. No one anywhere thought Cenac would be anywhere but LSU. Including Koa. It was a major curveball in his recruitment.

Yeah RW, don’t you know these things!?

Even if Tugler starts next season, Peat would probably get the same minutes per game as if he was the starter. To me, that would be ideal for Peat.

You all saw that Stanford just hired Luck as it’s GM of football. College sports isn’t what it once was. It is full blown pro endeavor now. These kids are getting paid, they have agents. None of these kids are playing for the love of our college or theirs. These kids look at this one year at a time. None of these kids plan from the start to be somewhere 4 years let alone 5. That is why I laugh when some talk redshirting. These kids would transfer long before they stayed somewhere 5 years, yes Ramon is different, he truly loved being on this team. But mainly because he just wasn’t going to be a star somewhere else.

True in most cases, but Sampson knows how to recruit and build a roster. It is good to have player at all levels of development like Roberts, Lath, Shead mixed in with J.Walker, Flemings, Cenac, Harwell.
Even if Walker and Wilson eventually have their minutes taken they have a huge value on this team. Some will only look at stars, but our culture and build up the roster properly helps us to keep the players we want. Now with the 15 limit there will be less encouraging players to leave. I think we will see some like Walker who will stay, Lath may be another, and others that will want their PT like Alley. Just have to wait and see on someone like Jefferson and how well McCarty develops.

Chase McCarty is red shirting. He’d have been in the rotation at 98% of schools.

CRAZY 3 headed monster if Jo stays, and the number 5 and 6 recruits in the country if he leaves…

Goes to show that you don’t understand the NBA draft and what scouts are looking for. Lol

NBA scouts would disagree.

If draft was today he is a second round pick.

If he continues to improve from distance this year, through combines, etc. He could sneak into first round.

and neither of you are NBA scouts either, just because I gave my opinion doesn’t mean yours is anymore credible then mine

in fact, as of today there are zero mock drafts out there that has him in the top 60 prospects I’ve seen him in the 90s which should not get someone drafted.

time will tell who is right and who is wrong on this subject next June
