2025 Offers

Either scenario looks good to me. If Tugler leaves and we sign Peat, I still want a back up seasoned big that can rebound and score in the low post. I think we’re fine on the perimeter so long as Sharp and Miller return. I think TA declares for the draft if he continues to play at a high level, but if not, I sure hope someone steps up with a nice NIL package to keep him in the fold. I’m sure TA and Tugler will both get significant offers from other schools. It would suck seeing either of these guys in another uniform, especially JoJo.

TA has not been playing at a " high level " recently. Its ok… but ItIsWhatItIs

Yeah, he’s been missing the last few games. I’m wondering if maybe he was one of the players that got sick.

I think its what i put at the end of my post. Happens to all of them. Fans tend t9 overreact in both ways… good & bad.
Like CKS says don’t get too high or too low during the process. Been said by many former high achievers— If you haven’t experienced failure yet, you have not attempted to be uncomfortable yet.
He’ll be alright… just not at the moment.
Stay tuned.

100% would want a proven Tugler back if I had the option. It’s going to be really interesting to see what his draft stock looks like as the year goes on. He’s a generational defensive player, but his offense needs a ton of work. I’m just not sure how many NBA teams want a guy who is a 100 on defense but almost a zero on offense.

EDIT: And when I say I don’t know, I truly don’t know. I have no idea what NBA scouts look for when it’s just raw talent.

i know the odds may not be in our favor but just based on skillset and team dynamics i really want peat regardless of what happens with tugler

imo he unlocks next years teams potential … no big on roster is a natural aggressive scorer (talking mentality no skillset)
and then have few guards that can really score off the dribble …

we have spacing but no one really built to take advantage of that spacing. peat is a low post bully scorer, in the post up or as a driver… he is an elite mismatch scorer…and the type of player that’ll demand a double team… that lead to open shoots for others, or letting peat go to work.

it also further improves the spacing, peat isnt a “shooter” but shoots enough that you have to defend him at the perimeter … we’d go from 4 out to 5 out… which would remove shot blockers from the post, which would be huge for uzan, miller and flemings

ive given this hot take before but peat would be top 2 in scoring if we landed him next year… and big transfer portal bidding is so crazy, i know if we got someone from the portal it likely wouldnt be anyone near peats level

Ask the coaches who had Dennis Rodman and how he worked out for them.

Sure, if you have Michael Jordan or David Robinson on your team for offense. Not saying it’s never happened, but I think the team make up is hugely important.

TA’s problem with the NBA scouts is his production does not match his talent. Until he recovers from his injury and starts producing the way most of us think he is capable of, teams will shy away from him because of the risk.

His measurables and defense are what have him in the 2nd round. If JoJo had a serious offensive game to him, there’s a good chance he’d be borderline lottery. Definitely lottery of he had a consistent outside shot.

Not sure where the comparison is? I will tread lightly but i don’t see Tugler as great rebounder at this juncture of his basketball career. He’s a great shot blocker and floor runner but all other facets of his Basketball skills could go up a notch or 2 or 3 in some cases. Jmo.

Agreed, he is not a rebounding monster by any means.

Comparison come from Rodman was a lock down defensive player and elite rebounder, no O game whatsoever. Player like Jojo does things that help a team win that don’t show in the stats (like Dennis Rodman all I am saying) , besides a W in the win W/L column.

All good Caton. I still can’t put Tugler on that kind of plateau. Those accolades are earned over many many yrs of excellence of any given individual skill a player may have. Just me, i thk nowadays the comparisons are put out there too easily, esp when it’s compared to someone who achieved greatness.
Hoping Tugler keeps progressing in all areas of a Basketball player.

Edit: while we’re on Jojo T., i wish he could cut down on his fouls 30 ft from the basket. But part of that is CKS Defensive schemes that require the Center to go far away from the goal.

I just say this Rodman wasn’t on his level in college as he was in the NBA. Not saying JoJo 2nd coming of Rodman, but who knows until his career is finished hopefully a long time into the future maybe experts will be comparing Rodman to him one day. A Dennis Rodman type player who developed a killer O game which Dennis never did.

I thought he went by onProwl

If Peat would to come to UH that would be one of the best college basketball high school recruiting classes EVER!!!

The 2025 class is soooo top heavy w/talent.

:man_shrugging::ok_man: . Idk.

Even though it was NAIA level, Rodman was 3 time All American in College. He lead the nation in rebounding his Jr & Sr years.

This will be McFarland’s third year even though he hasn’t played. If healthy don’t sleep on this kid
