2025 Offers

When JoJo hit his first 2 floaters against Tech, this is exactly what I was thinking. If JoJo can get consistent with that floater, shoot at least the occasional 3 and stop fouling so much, there’s no way he returns. But that’s a lot of “ifs” this late in the season.

JoJo’s fouling is keeping him off some NBA draft boards, but all it takes is one team. His short hook, while not artistic, was effective and will only get better.

Next year’s roster makeup (with our without Peat) is going to be really interesting. I would expect Cenac to get fed in the high post quite a bit, just like J’Wan does now. Especially given his handles for his size. But I don’t expect him to be an actual 3 in our offense. Not sure how Sampson is going to arrange all the pieces, but it’s a very good problem to have. And for clarification, I badly want to land Peat. Just don’t think it will happen if JoJo comes back.

Why do you worry? Serious question. If he goes he goes… he gets replaced. Whatever is best for him is what all of us should want. CKS has already said twice he knows who’s coming back, that he talks to them daily on these topics.
Coogs will be fine no matter what imo.

Edit: he mentioned it agsin within last week he knew who was returning. If surprise happens, he reacts. That’s how he got Q. Grimes.

I don’t see any scenario where we are starting two tr fr in the front court so I still don’t see Jojo’s decision being the driver of this bus. If Jojo leaves I think the door is open for all portal bigs to apply.
If he stays Peat can still earn his time in the rotation as a freshman and be the man as a sophomore.

peat has 1st round grade for 2026… im not sure you realize how touted peat is …
arizona st and texas are promising not only to start but to center their entire offense around him… and using their current freshmen as an example

Which would push Peat more toward UH?
ASU with Hurley
ASU without Hurley (assuming they didn’t hire Peet’s uncle as HC)

I asked earlier if anyone else had hesrd his radio show this week. Sorry been 4+ hrs yard work. Anyhow the 3 talented incoming Frosh got brought up, think it was ? from someone there at bbq place. So CKS elaborates n says 1 of the 3 is gonna be in for big surprise as far as how they train in Summer. He says-- i won’t name him but he’s going find out quick.
I found it interesting that he signaled out 1 of them for maybe lack of working out etc. Now I’m curious who it is. He made sure n said jyst 1, although they all gonna struggle initially. Just fyi…

He was definitely referring to Cenac.

That’s who I guessed.

Edit: figured it was Big guy.

Cenac will definitely need to toughen up once he gets here.

CKS don’t play. Ohhh esp now that you getting paid!! Let’s go… harder.

our defense is a stable and mostly stays the same no natter who is here…but our offense changes year to yearly vastly based on the players

weve gone shooting in transition (galen era), to iso every play (dejon, mills era), to shead runs the entire offense and the shooters are appendages, to our current drive and float, with shooters offense

i dint think we’ll feed to cenac in the high post, thats not his game…

my guess for the offense next year assuming everyone stays and no one leaves - is 4 out with tugler running picks …and attacking the weakest matchup in iso 1 through 4, and swinging to shooters if they try to bring help

No. I have not. He has put in a ton of work over the last couple of years to put him in the position that he is in today.

Good deal. He’ll be alright. Takes some longer than others. Many have wanted to go home after Summer workouts. Brutal

First name I thought of

The ideal big man for Peat to play next to would be someone like Cenac. If he commits any time before April, it will not be Houston. I don’t have anything that suggests he will be making a decision before April. He really likes Houston. We would have been the pick if Cenac did not do a 180.

I hope we can get Peat but feel he wants to start right away and cant wait for Tugler’s decision. I feel UT or AZ school

ASU also has James Harden NIL and starting spot for Peat.

Harden also helped with NIL and got 5* Jayden Quaintance last year

The reason with stuck with lath is because of dedan?

Just a thought…

“In for a shock regarding working out” does not necessarily reflect “unwilling to work due to being lazy”.

Assuming it is Cenac being referenced…

He might already be working like a madman 20 hours a day on things like his shooting, handles, free throws, film studies, footwork, etc… so that’s NOT lazy.

But Sampson may be inferring that what Cenac will find shocking is the degree required for diving for loose balls, agility drills without the ball, running like its for a marathon, …or even slap-contest, MMA fighting, Navy Seal beach torture tests, surviving waterboarding ( ). etc…

Admittedly I have zero insight on any of that other than its possible based on how current and former players describe the boot camp nature somewhat unique to our program.
