You guys are losing an AD who had a knack for hiring great fits at coach. I listened to him in an extended interview. He will be missed. One of the good guys for sure and I loved the way he talked about hiring coaches.
(Hilarious how open he was about expansion stories and what he thinks of different teams lol. Refreshing and he’s such a straight shooter he gets away with it.)

Idk, but arguably our biggest portal addition was a safety from Toledo that Indiana wanted.
He went down for the year like 2nd week of spring, of course. So id assume it’s pretty likely.

Jamie Pollard has held the AD position since 2005. The offical title of the position was Director of Athletics from '05 thru '25, just as it always was before that.
At the beginning of this year, some anonymous alumni gave a generous donation to the department with the string attached that they change the official title forever as follows…
ISU agreed.

Obviously, the jokes write themselves. The long and full official title (pun intended) for the next AD will actually be the Jamie Pollard Endowed Director of Athletics.

OT BYU post and an off season trip down memory lane…
2013: BYU blows out Texas in Provo. Texas fires their DC after the game.
2014: Texas head coach Charlie Strong and many players squak all week about how they are going to show Texas being Texas and they are going to beat BYU down by being tougher.
BYU says nothing but the day before the game the BYU offensive line poses on the logo with their coach doing horns down and puts it on social media. “wE aRe GoinG tO dEStRoY tHeM FoR tHiS dIsReSpeCt”.
“The white guy with a knee brace” does it again. The CFB world clowns on Texas for a week. And Taysom Hill did it in the NFL for the Saints for 10 years. That run is now over and prompted the trip down memory lane lol.

As someone who is ashamed to admit I grew up a hok fan (at least for football), I can say this aspect made switching over so much easier and rewarding. Even in the bad times, I’ve never regretted this aspect of being an ISU convert in particular.
And ISU is not and has never been an offensive powerhouse by any means. The bar is really not high. But i truly don’t envy ppl who sit down to root on the hoks every week only to watch their no name qb waste everyone’s time.
And the fact that they remain so smug about their consistent mediocrity is something I’m sure we can all relate to.
I mean, I enjoy it! Because win or lose, it’s bad. They win in spite of him and lose because of him most of the time. And it’s gonna finish the same every year. Not terrible, not great, NEVER exciting.

It’s 2026, have a dang QB! Preferably an athletic one, like UH or BYU… or even lowly ISU has!
We can all be thankful for that.

Admittedly @MountainCoug @BYUcougarfan , I really didnt 100% know who Taysom Hill was until he was with the saints. I’m sure a lot of ppl were in that boat.
