Based on our significant improvement from year one to year two, it would be pretty silly to say that we aren’t on the right trajectory.

Fritz came into a dumpster. Period. Hired late in the recruiting process and was still able to get bodies (remember, under the Lazy Coach, the “ship sailed” with only 8 signees when every other team had 20+).
Did what he could and matched Lazy’s four wins.
We have won 8 with a possible 9 vs BU, and a possible 10 vs a bowl team. Noone expected more than 6 wins. Really, no one did.
Did we have a couple of disappointing losses? Yep. Did we win 8 games? Yep!
Look at the recruiting class coming in!

Some people just don’t get it.
We live in a time of instant gratification, scrolling social media at the dinner table, and guys who learned more about football (and life) from Madden, than their Fathers.
It’s a time where people can’t discuss their differences of opinion. All they do is double down on their thoughts and block out everyone else’s perspective.
This forum is AWESOME, but it’s a double-edged sword. Anyone can say almost anything they want with no consequences, and if you point it out to them, they verbally assault you.
They want what they want, even if they have no idea what it takes to get it.

IIRC, it’s something Art Briles said when he got hired here. Might’ve also been Dave Maggard, not sure.
And 15 other Big 12 teams did not make the playoffs last year. Should show just how easy it is.
(SMU, ASU, and BSU won a combined zero playoff games btw, and two of them lost to a coach who’s an infamous big game choker and has since been fired.)

It makes sense now that he posted something from Art Briles.
He was run out of this thread (about 2026 being Willie’s first year) because he was demanding instant gratification.
I tried to explain it to him, respectfully, and added a little humor, and he threw a tantrum.
Now he’s in another thread pimping the glories of the “run and shoot”.
If his idol is a disgraced Art Briles, and I support a great Family man, like Willie, I understand his motive, and I rest my case.
The Coogs will get there soon…
With all the disasters and travesties we’ve dealt with since Herman left, it’s nice to just enjoy a pretty damn good team
