Seems…like 98% of our alums are already not fans…do you really want to lose more…lol
I have thought our offense is boring all year. Let’s face it, it has been boring. That being said, our offense is not what cost us the game last night.
The play-calling within our normally boring offense cost us the game.
Even our boring ass offense should have won this game easily.
Defense created 4 turnovers and also a turnover on downs.
A team that forces 4 turnovers, with a +3 to margin statistically has an almost 100% chance of winning the game.
How did we lose??
What b ulls hit take…
Good news. You hope You are wrong…. ….and You are.
Next year is year 3. No excuses. Lol we have the transfer portal. Gone are the days it takes 3-4 years to build something. You don’t go from 4-8 to (probably) 8-4 and not call it year 2. It was progress.
Regardless of how talented we are as a team, there are some issues that will continue to repeat if not adressed.
Issue #1: name a greater beef than Fritz and timeout management, you can’t.
Why did he call a timeout at 2:05 in the 4th? We would have had a “free” timeout 5 seconds later. Consequence of that is we couldn’t stop the clock on our should’ve been game winning drive. Dumb decision.
Issue #2: Fritz needs to become more hands on with Nagle.
Allowing your QB to throw the ball deep on 3rd and short is stupid. If it’s less than 3 yards, the ball needs to come out quick and within 10 yards of the marker.
Issue #3: Personnel problems.
Don’t sub out the hot hand. Any person with two eyes could see that TCU was not going to cover RBs. DJ Butler was having a good drive and you pull him to put a gimpy Conners back in for an inside zone? Keep Butler in and dump it to him in the flats.
Also calling Carlos Allen off of the wide side of the field when TCU was ALREADY LINED UP on 3rd and short was stupid! Hes not that fast. Lol Quick snap free first down.
I guess UH should be paying you 4.5M / year. You appear to have it all figured out (after the fact).
I was told that you can’t win if you commit 4 turnovers.
Who are you talking to?
Anyone even slightly, remotely critical of Fritz.
Lol oh ok. Yea I don’t know what to tell Dude. These are REPETITIVE non talent related issues that affect the outcome of the game. Good news is they’re fixible.
Woke up this morning realizing how far ahead of schedule Willie Fritz and the Cougars are. 8-3. Top 25 recruiting class. Number 1 player in the country (QB) coming in January. Wow, we are blessed with Fritz. Our future is so bright.
We’re WAY ahead of schedule. To think we really could be 10-1 if had an better O is mind blowing. ALL of the ex-AAC teams have had issues and struggles moving into P4, it’s called reality. Lack of depth and $$$ that our Big 12 Brethren have had decades jumpstart on us can’t be overcome immediately. We also don’t have a Cody Campbell pumping $50M into the football team so it’s going to have to be built not bought. Quick look at where the 3 AAC “call ups” stand. UH and Cincy have improved every year and are both vastly improved in 2025
(overall/conference)
UH ( 16-19 / 10-16 )
UC ( 15-20 / 9-17 )
UCF ( 15-21 / 7-19 )
Agree 100%. Willie was an absolute home run hire and anyone in their right mind would have in August told you that they would be thrilled for having being ranked in late November (and should have been ranked before that) and going into the Baylor game with 8 wins.
8-3
The R&S and Case era’s were incredibly fun…BUT…the video game numbers don’t win Championships. Looked at our per game average numbers from '76 and '15
1976 10-2 Final Rank 4th
Offense: Pass 8-16 144yds Rush: 60-270yds 4.4avg
Defense: Pass 11-24 173yds Rush: 41-160 3.9avg
2015 13-1 Final Rank 8th
Offense: Pass 20-30 285yds Rush: 47-236 4.9avg
Defense: Pass 19-35 274yds Rush: 34-108 3.2 ahg
You’re an absolute moron. We were one very makeable FG away from OT and 2 from winning the game. We make either one of those and we are probably looking at a 10-win regular season and being just outside the playoff and an outstanding bowl game. But a good kicker has a bad day and all of the sudden the coach is terrible.
Spoken like someone that has never played or coached a down in their lives.
How did we lose? We missed FGs.
It was on the plate, but you have to execute the field goals.
I had no problem going for it on 4th down at the 1. Looked like our guys we covered and Weigman threw it up because it was 4th down…no sense in taking a sack and having no opportunity.
TCU seemed to sell out versus the run. Their DBs really had hands all over our receivers down the field. CW was under constant pressure with not a lot of guys to throw to. Once the OL gets more talented, this O will take off.
Frankly speaking, TCU with their up tempo offense was inconsistent at best. They had a lot of yards between the 30’s, but not much beyond that.
For grins looked at 2025 numbers so far
2025 8-3
Offense: Pass 17-28 216yds Rush: 41-172 4.2avg
Defense: Pass 18-30 206yds Rush: 36-135 3.7avg
Next year needs to find him a real OC.
