2026 recruiting, 2026 roster - eligibility

last decade but we speaking since the century hit yes Melo had a better Freshmen year.

Anthony Davis had a bigger impact slightly than Cooper did too.

Melo
The brow
Cooper

as far as most impactful as Freshmen, I’d put KD too in there probably above Cooper. KD’s freshman year was special

Nah. Lol. If its just stats Michael Beasley was a beast.

Yep beasley was a beast in college too. Hansbrough won the wooden award that year.

KD won the wooden award as a freshman

I specifically said last decade…

Zion is close.

I know, i was replying to Mr Coog when he brought up Melo.

last decade Zion, Trae Young and Okafor come to mind. Okafor led his team to a title. Zion and Trae had better stats.

Man Trae led college in scoring and assists…that’s crazy as a freshman. only player to ever do that feat and he did as a freshman

Cooper was probably more impactful but last decade, those 4 players had really great college freshmen years.

Okafor was 11 years ago.

Derik Queen was solid. Not the best talent or coach around.

i’m not counting covid year hahahaha

We really need a young PF to develop. We’re looking at Jojo and Cenac leaving after next season. Sakho is ineligible to return as well I believe. That leaves McFarland and Lath. There are still a number of high 3-stars in the 2025 class available that we could RS.

Just a few based on rankings on 247.

Nate Ament is still uncommitted but that’s not happening unless Jojo leaves.

2026-27 season will be Kellen’s first class im predicting. Hell have to go the TP route for a starter or two.

I think CKS wins it in 2025-26 and retires.

Two years remaining since his 2 seasons in JC doesn’t count against the number.

So unless we get a big transfer or another high 5-star, we’re looking at McFarland and Sakho as our starters. Still not comfortable.

Tugler & Cenac would start.

Nah. Theyll be in the nba!!!

2026-27 will be a transition/reloading year.

For next yr or the following after that?

The 2026-27 season. Right Tugler, Cenac, Harwell, Sharp, are expected gone

Leaving McFarland, Lath, Sakho

Just follow the thread under Lumberjack comment.

Uzan if he returns.
Harwell
Cenac
Sakho
Pops
Maybe an underclassman who doesnt see enough minutes.
I may be forgetting someone.

Flemings depends if he starts he gone imo. I think hell show out. If coming off the bench is 70-30 he stays as of today already.

IMO, Ramon and Nate Hinton are two of the toughest to ever play for UH. I’m excited to see Walker get back in the rotation. He’s gonna grab rebounds throughout the season that are going to be hard nosed tough culture rebounds.

Ramon plays hard, does everything rebounds like Malik and just makes players all over the place. He can score too. Watch his play from the 2024 tournament. injuries have derailed his seasons but he’s a Coog!

Mercy is going to play allot of minutes if not start and I think Miller will start. At the very least be the 6th man. We know he can score. See Alabama game. He spent the season learning how to play Defense and there is conditioning adjustment for scorers. Players have to be condtioned such that they have enough legs to make shots while playing this kind of defense. His defense progressed a huge amount. I’m telling you; don’t sleep on Miller!

That’s a bold prediction, ngl
