I’m not sure anyone is discounting the ALL-AMERICAN factor. LJ got it and Milos can too. It will raise his stock and the more elite players around him the better. Personally, I think Milos is looking at being in the record books as an ALL AMERICAN. He can do it.
So…maybe its too early, but what is the actual 2026 recruiting look like? Maybe I missed it but I don’t see a threat for it. This is all about our 2025 class even though it says 2026. It has been comforting to know how good our incoming class was all year. But I find myself looking ahead and wondering how long this all lasts and what does transition look like to Kellen when it happens. The last few years and this has been out of this world, so I’m trying to enjoy it while I can.
The only thing is how quickly will the newcomers adjust to the physicality and style of play? That will determine who and how fast they get play/stay on the court. There could also be a drop off in defense. Hopefully Uzan comes back and the rest help maintain the culture.
Ramon Walker is omitted from the list of returnees.
He might return. If so we then have 15 and transfers are done.
Uzan might benefit by staying to work on his D and offensive consistency. Sometimes his 3s look forced.
He’s the face of the season ticket renewal campaign. I guess that doesn’t guarantee he’s back but you’d think he might be.
Uzan and Issacs both grew up in the Las Vegas area and were AAU teammates. I think Issacs is LJ’s replacement. Returning one more year to get NIL $ and maybe moving up the draft board is better financially for Uzan than being mid to late 2nd round. Something like 70% of 2nd round picks play less than three years in the league and most in the back half of the 2nd round only get two-way contracts.
Kelvin has previously said they are a family and he knows exactly who is staying and who is going.
i did not intend to leave off Ramon Walker.
I assumed most of us renewed our season tickets a month or two ago (can’t remember when they were opened for renewal). I also assume that those that haven’t done so already are going to soon. Is this the first year that both football and basketball were opened to renewal at the same time?
It’s the first time I remember it happening that way. I kind of preferred having time to recover from one before paying for the other, but I’m sure it’s way easier to manage the budget and whatnot by doing it this way.
so we now know Ramon Walker is seeking a medical redshirt fot this past season to return next season and Terrence Arceneaux is transferring. We wish Terrence all the best!
I wish TA the best of luck. Great kid, unfortunate situation. However, I’m excited to have Ramon’s grit back in the rotation. He’s a hellraiser on defense, a good rebounder, & a capable shooter on offense. He embodies our culture in the same way we saw with Mylik Wilson. I think his veteran leadership will be very important to next year’s squad.
Where is Ramon going to get minutes on next year’s team?? I don’t see it.
Ramon will come in at the 3 or 4 when coach is frustrated with the young guys and needs someone who knows what’s up
and in practice as a culture enhancer…each and every day…
As of now, I have him as the 2nd string (3) guard.
1: Uzan / Flemings / Jefferson
2: Isaacs / Harwell / Miller
3: Sharpe / Walker / Jackson
4: Tugler / McFarland / McCarty (SF)
5: Cenac / Sakho / Lath
Exactly!!
Agreed, Walker would be a great practice player if he comes back, but he isn’t getting minutes in games that matter unless others aren’t doing their part. Sampson recruits better players every year.
Ramon Walker can be the victory cigar.
