Yea but what I’m saying is that is probably 9th in the rotation. And when we get into big games I don’t think Samspon is going to be bringing more than 3 guys off the bench
Hes always been like this. I dont see him changing.
Randon thought:
I think Ramon’s injury not only paved the way for TA to get additional minutes as the small ball 4, but it also could have lead to the decision not to redshirt Mercy along with McCarty. CKS wanting bring him (Walker) back speaks volumes.
Hopefully so, but that’s not necessarily the role we need him to fill. If he does, great. But if not, we at least know what we’re getting out of him defensively as well as on the boards.
That’s an assumption, not a certainty. If this Natty run has tought CKS anything, it’s that you can never be too deep. Why do you think we added a 5th big man & Pop Isaacs despite the freshmen we have coming in? We legitimately have the talent to run a solid 10 man rotation. Will CKS do it? Who knows.
But with the scholarship limit increasing to 15, you can bet our opponents are going to load up their rosters and play a bunch of guys. We’ll be forced to reciprocate. And if you’re lucky enough to have the embarrassment of riches we do, you play them!
If Mercy defense catches his offense, he will be on the second unit.
Let’s not forget, Sharp was criticized early for his defense, now he’s a very good defender. I think Miller can catch up to that
I’m thinking you are going to be surprised
The kid has so much potential, but seriously when did he show his offense was any better than his defense this past season?
Miller was a timid freshman who had no clue how to play Sampson defense and looked nervous every time he stepped on the court.
I look for him to be a lot more assertive next year and a help off the bench.
Exactly, I believe he can be big time scorer but he could not make a FG at all against Big 12 team. His defense was better than offense his last 8 games played.
Lot of talk on here about playing 8, but who did coach not play that could have been a serious contributor? He hasn’t left those kinds of players just sitting on the pine. He just hasn’t had them. Next season he might, so we will see how he handles it then.
Everybody don’t see from the same lenses. You see how you see, it’s your reality not mine. Nothing I can explain to you or show that’s going to change that. All Americans have redshirted in sports.
Agree and having multiple bigs allows CKS to bring in a much different physical “power” to our lineup. By adding who he did CKS sent a clear signal to our conference mates and others. I love it. We needed this in this year’s March Madness. J’Wan was great for us but we sorely needed more from others. I never want to be in the position when Florida went Detroit dirty Pistons on us ever again.
I think he planned on playing MacFarland. 4 bigs 5 guards
I didn’t see timid with Miller. Of course just speaking of the times he came in at the end of blowouts. He was always ready to shoot the ball but I did see improvement on defense and a potentially really good rebounder.
I think Coach will absolutely play 9 guys as long as they consistently do their jobs and give us what we need.
Less likely we play 9 guys when we have a veteran starting 5
His defense looked better toward the end of the year but he was bad on offense this entire season.
That’s not true. Early on he looked fantastic on offense, super shaky on defense. Then when he struggled to see the court it was clear he had been working on his defense which showed when he did play but his offense slipped. Ultimately though The sample size is so small it’s hard to really assess anything at this point
I must’ve missed the games where he looked fantastic on offdnse…
He had a decent game against ULL… I guess my definition of fantastic is going 6-9 from 3xand putting up 20+ points
Jackson St and Louisiana games he looked really good in fairly limited time, in the Louisiana game he scored 12 points in 21 minutes. Struggled with more minutes Vs Hofstra and didn’t get a lot of minutes from that point on. Had some really explosive moments though where we all thought he was a future star. Again, all of it is limited but you can’t say he didn’t show promise
