Two guys we are finalists with one other school for are Lakeyleon Graves (247 rating of 90) and Pulelei’ite Primus (247 rating of 88). We also have a chance—probably not a great chance but possible—to get Davian Groce (247 composite score of 98). I expect us to finish at or very near the top of the Big 12 in average ranking per recruit. We probably won’t sign as many as other league schools, so we might not finish in the top three overall.
It’s feeling like 2016 with these commits
LETS GO
We are at 14 now. How many more scholarships do we have for this class?
I think we can sign as many as 20, so we’ll need to keep an eye out during the season.
You hate when people confuse facts for excuses now? Except for when it fits your narrative. Typical.
Let’s see how UH compares to it’s closest competitors for recruits, SMU, Baylor and TCU. These are the current national rankings as of 7/14/25.
#17 SMU - 21 commits, average recruiting ranking per recruit is 88.43.
#22 Baylor - 17 commits, average recruiting ranking per recruit is 88.80.
#35 TCU - 19 commits, average recruiting ranking per recruit is 87.37.
#45 UH - 14 commits, average recruiting ranking per recruit is 88.52.
This past weekend was big for UH. Two of the three highest rated recruits for UH committed this weekend. As far as who is “winning” the recruiting battle, the average recruiting rankings are so close, none of the teams have separated themselves. SMU has the most commitments, and from UH’s standpoint, it would be unlikely to match SMU’s number of commitments, and its ranking per recruit. UH is the only one of the four teams to have a five star commitment.
Carlisle isnt QB2. Fritz has Zeon and seemingly Wijay ahead of him for now.
Unfortunately. That’s Zeon. If he sees the field as QB then it’s going to be a looooong season.
I can’t get excited about any 4 or 5 star we recruit because they will probably leave after 1 year.
As long as they’re not leaving for another school that’s all I care about.
odds are that is exactly what they are going to do. College football is professional football without the roster protection of contracts.
Well let’s hope the stuff that got them to commit in the first place plus new money being thrown at them for their successful performances here, plus being kept happy by coaches will solidify their decisions to stay.
The yeoman recruiting is very similar now that you think about it - only difference is the players Yeoman decided to shift towards weren’t in high demand for quite some time but once a value was placed on them things changed
but my issue is are these players choosing UH with playing for 1 year in their heads due to money or are they really committing to UH long term? If they don’t play in year one are they mad?
It’s the banned UH1927 poster, imo.
Hopefully we put the ball in Zeons hands. That was one of only highlights from last years team.
This point in the college football universe if you get a top 4 or 5 star player they have to see the field or they will go elsewhere. Then as you develop the lesser ranked recruits you sift through them. The pendulum swings the other way and you have tough conversations with players that won’t ever see the field. I would bet that close to a third of the portal are players that were told they should go to the portal for a better opportunity.
You may not hold onto all your developing stars but you also don’t have to hold on to players hoping to crack special teams by their senior year.
So recruit for this year, hit the portal, and hope your developmental players stick around for one more year.
Really hope Zeon is retooled as a WR or something.
How many of our players have left after 1 year? Virtually none. And Henderson, Warren and Melvin arent leaving after 1 year either. They committed to us because they believe in CWF and the culture we have at our school. They are here to build a winner, and they will.
Then why did they sign with us in the first place? Yes these players are getting paid. We have not seen what the agreement is. I would be surprised that we would spend $M’s for one season. These players have everything to gain playing for us, the City of Houston. Think about it. Playing for us reinforces our program at the detriment of our BIG12 competition and recruiting regional competition.
SMU has landed at least four kids heavily recruited by OU in recent days. Lashee is recruiting DFW very well. OU could very well become the new Arkansas.
