2026 Recruiting

It’s all a guessing game now.
It will be interesting who our backup to Weigman will be. Will it be as senior Zeon or freshman Carlisle?
Regardless if Weigman has a great year he will be gone and then Carlisle will probably be first man up with Henderson ready to battle for the spot.
I’m not worried about who might portal out. I think Fritz had been around long enough to handle any situation. Don’t sleep on Carlisle next year.

NO HE WONT! Weigman is an injury prone QB who has played in only 13 games. He needs to show the pros he can stay healthy for a whole year and be successful. Doing it 2 years is much better and i promise you he’ll get a much better contract doing 2 years instead of one. Any decent agent would tell Weigman the same thing.

Lol.

CWF never said he only recruits in driving distance, he said he mainly concentrates on Texas and Louisiana. But he has shown he will recruit elsewhere. BTW, everywhere in the U.S. is within driving distance except Hawaii. Some drives are just shorter than others.

Why does everyone keep talking about how rich Archie is and how he doesn’t need NFL money?

He doesn’t already have NFL money.

He isn’t Peyton or Eli’s kid is he?

His dad didn’t play in the NFL. So where’s does all this rich kid talk come from?

My guess is that Carlisle redshirts this year and Zeon is our #2. I also don’t think Weigman is a “one and done” at UH. I think he starts for 2 years and Carlisle and Henderson competes for #2 in 2026.

Of course, all we are doing is guessing.

I agree. Not sure one good/great year is going to get him to a draft spot that is worth leaving school.

I’m also not worried about average recruiting ranking. Sure it gets everybody something to talk about or a reason to chest thump, but I remember the days when 3 star Keith Corbin and Marquez Stevenson were terrorizing P5 defenses. Or when 3 star, 2 offers Patrick Paul didn’t give up a sack his senior season(which also translated to only one sack given up as a NFL rookie).

Stars are cool, but the real work is coaching. Coach Fritz is inevitable, there aren’t many in the business that can figure it out like him.

I really hope congress is able to pass the bill limiting players to only 1 transfer, that would really stabilize things.

Great idea but you can be sure that will go to the courts and more than likely won’t be passed. Players are students. Students can transfer as many times as they want. Here lays the outcome.

All good, there’s 5 commits already in the class and WR is where we usually mine in the portal.

Also I don’t think we pay the HS recruits that much on the NIL front. It’s the transfers that get the bulk of that money. Don’t believe anything OU fans tell you, they seem to think we are taking the Aggies/Tech route on this.

All the BS about Manning is just the typical UT BS

I really hope the government stays the heck out of it.

Because the 2nd choice is always right. :smiling_face_with_tear:
Why would you want players stuck at a school they don’t want to be at. That’s not good for anyone, including fans

Yeah, he is pretty injury prone and that doesn’t help his draft stock.

My guess is, should he have an outstanding year, he goes on to play for some SEC team. Ole Miss, Mizzou, or Auburn. Someone will throw some money at him.

Have you ever heard of a Family Trust

Some people do not understand what it takes to build a program the right way……you don’t just throw money at everything.

Also, they CLEARLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND how bad of shape Dana left the program….our first year as a “p4” we were still basically a “g5”……there was no ramp up to hit the new conference full bore….Dana was a lazy MFer and completely whiffed on the opportunity.
Year 1 of CFW and we were lucky to win 4 games….those were culture wins and spoke highly of the program he is building.

For anyone to come on this board and suggest the coaches are not doing enough and should have us as a top 2o class this year do not have a clue of how things work.

Best just to ignore the nonsense……you can’t debate ignorance.

Are you getting ready to disclose the details of this “family trust?”

lol. No, you are not. Because you don’t know if a family trust exists and you don’t have any inside information related to such trust or its financial details. STOP.

Unless your are going to provide financial details, in that case, please continue on about how much money this kid has.

We will see. Carlisle is wild and crazy at times lol but IMO can be coached into a really good college quarterback.
It will be an interesting battle for back and I can see Austin redshirting if he isn’t the backup.
