2026 Recruiting

If it makes you feel any better, Tech stopped recruiting him after he OV’ed there. Draw your own conclusions.

Yeah, they’ve got three commits from Texas. It’s a great school (AAU), and they play in the SEC though I have trouble seeing them ever winning more than 7 or 8 games. Hopefully the Big 12 will catch up with the SEC some the next few years.

It’s not the same……I played against Permian in 89’.
That was the year after the “FNL” year.
In 89’ , Stoney Case was the QB……actually an old buddy of mine.

And Permian did not have a ton of talent that was D-1……They were extremely well coached and played hard……The closest I have seen of a team like them were the Katy teams not to long ago.

Smithson valley has a few teams like that and came close several times.

In Texas if you have an established system, great location to attract outside athletes, numbers and a few difference makers coupled with coaching and facilities you’ll always win.

Even easier in Houston where it seems like the same teams always wins cause they have all of the above

Good analogy.

Interesting B12 teams ranking by recruit quality rating average over team national ranking. We’re looking better.

The suspense is killing me. Do we have any other potential booms?

Same here…need some fireworks! :grinning:

Like most things in life, it’s a process and not an event…and patience is a virtue.

Good point Mike! :slightly_smiling_face:

Groce nearing a decision and there is a leader. He reposted this tweet. I guess we will find out soon.

He would definitely bump up our recruiting class ranking top 40 regardless what happens the rest of the way.

I hope someone is telling Groce that Oklahoma has a state income tax. Florida and Texas do not. Oklahoma revenue sharing would certainly be taxable income. You can get around state taxable income for NIL by creating a paying entity in Texas, which I would imagine already exists for other Texas recruits.

So Oklahoma overpays in NIL to overcome the state income tax. Players for Oklahoma still have a state income tax filing.

Yes, because that philosophy has landed us TWO. 1…2 Conference Championships over the last 30 years.

INSANITY: keep doing the same thing, over and over again, hoping for different results

Joshua Donald, transfer from App State is not on the current roster. Does anyone know what happened with him?

Someone mentioned that a few weeks ago. No one, that I know of, was able to shed any light.

A massive donation for nil ???
